I am sorry to hear about the glutenization that happened. I go to my local Chilis in Southern IL and haven't had an issues.

Chilis, Longhorn Steakhouse, Pasta House, all have gluten free menus and I have had good experiences at all of them. In Southern IL and St Louis area of MO.

I sailed with Carinval this spring. We had taken cruises before and had booked for our honeymoon before I found out I had the gluten allergy and were afraid we would need to cancel. I have no idea about the alkali but I have eaten at a Melting Pot in St Louis and I had the chocolate. I didn't have any reactions so you got me. That's no fun with the waiter talking to you like that though!

I have been on medifast and stayed on it after finding out I had a gluten allergy. I of course avoid the chicken noodle soup and I am still slightly concerned about the oatmeal but have not had any reactions to the shakes, pudding, hot drinks, new meal replacement bars. Hope that helps you! Jen
