About Me

Hi Everyone,

This website and everyone's info has been a real life saver for me. You have all helped me to feel normal, instead of like I was losing my mind or a hypochondriac which is how I was feeling for so long.

I have been gluten free for about 10 months, it has really changed my life for the better:)

My history is:

diagnosed with Hypothyroidism at age 20, not by the blood work but because of my symptoms, after seeing a few drs. one finally decided I should be treated by my symptoms not the negative thyroid bloodwork. I was prescribed eletroxin and cytomel for 10 yrs without any substantial relief, instead symptoms would get worse as well as new problems always popping up.

hairloss, skin issues, leg cramps, nausea, constant dull ache on my right side of my abdomen area, migraines, weight gain, puffy face/hands, foggy head, the poos, bloating, loss of libido, numbness, moodiness, over all feeling of heaviness, sleeping all the time but never feeling rested, depression, miscarriages/infertility and the list goes on and on.

Sent to numerous drs./specialist always with the same outcome, increase the thyroid meds.

Managed best I could with the addition of acupuncture and supplements, then about 2 yrs ago digestive issues and a sudden dairy intolerance were getting out of control, A friend told me to read the hormone diet book which is what led me to eliminating gluten.

And then finally I really was able to feel better, brings tears to my eyes:)

Never once did my drs. suggest any testing for gluten or food allergies, since removing gluten my endocrinologist took me off all meds and I still feel great unless of course I get Glutened, then I'm in trouble. The only unresolved issues are the infertility and lack of libido.

I was told I have to go back to eating gluten for 3 mos so they can test me for celiac, but I can't do it, just the thought of it stresses me out.

So that's my story, I hope it helps someone else searching for their cure.
