ARCHIVED Could Someone Tell Me If This Marinara Sauce Has Gluten?
gigifree replied to lolololo's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Companies who make food are responsible for the food they make and sell. If they lie to the food intolerant community they are liable (meaning they can be sued). And if companies are NOT telling the truth about what is in their food, then how can we educate ourselves. So food producers are responsible for the food they sell. This is the USA and American... -
ARCHIVED Could Someone Tell Me If This Marinara Sauce Has Gluten?

In the US, if they put wheat it in they must list it. Many companies, such as Con-Agra that makes Hunts, will list any gluten or oats in a product. -

from this gluten free site, Open Original Shared Link 3. Sour Cream- I hate it when I accidentally bring home the light sour cream instead of the full fat sour cream. I have been hurt by the light sour cream, so if you are still eating dairy, make sure you bring the right kind of sour cream home. Most sour cream is gluten-free, but some brands of full... -
ARCHIVED Could Someone Tell Me If This Marinara Sauce Has Gluten?

Actually, a lot of meats, like deli meat has gluten in it. Gluten is widely used as a filler. That's why Celiacs do not know what has gluten in it or not. THis is why we only use products that state that their products are gluten free. If you buy anything processed, I would check the company to make sure that it is gluten free. Many stores have lists... -

I am not sure what your point is. A company that says it up to you to decide is not liable, a company that states their product is gluten free is more liable. This is what these company's statements from their lawyers mean. So saying their product is gluten-free is a lot more meaningful than saying it is up to you. As for Trader Joe's, I have had... -
ARCHIVED Vitamin Recommendations?
gigifree replied to bny06's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If you need iron with your b12, i get a liquid supplement called floravital (this is there gluten free and yeast free type of liquid iron from veggies). It has b12 in it too. Rainbow light has supplements that are gluten free, i am taking their prenatal one (cause I need the Iron too). -
ARCHIVED Extra Charge For Sent Back Food?
gigifree replied to Juliebove's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
They should not have charged you for remaking it. Maybe the restaurant is rude to waitstaff, or makes them pay for these types of mistakes, which would make any waitperson stressed out. If you want to continue eating there, I would set up a meeting with the manager to find out, if they are willing to accommodate food requests from celiacs. If it was really... -

ARCHIVED Frustrated In Companies
gigifree replied to CarolinaKip's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
So many companies use gluten sometimes and they don't want to say it. It is so frustrating! I am in the process of deglutening my make-up. I have found that neutragena volume mascara works, and my eyes react to gluten (dry eye, jumpy eye, itchy eye and kerataconus). I have used their sensitive-skin face cream and that works fine for me. Neutragena... -
ARCHIVED Could Someone Tell Me If This Marinara Sauce Has Gluten?

Hi Karen, If a company does not test to see if their products has gluten in it, then how would they know? They could be using tomatoes from different vendors and some of those vendors could use gluten. Also, some spice companies use gluten and others do not. My statement is if a company is not willing to test and label their product as gluten free,... -
I am thinking of relocating to Fiji (a dream of mine). I wanted to know how easy it is to live a gluten-free lifestyle there. Thanks!

ARCHIVED Anyone Here With Jumpy Eyes?
gigifree replied to AVR1962's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Yes, I had jumpy eye, dry eye and keratoconus . My jumpy eye and dry eye are better with a gluten-free diet and vitamins, but keratoconus is a life long condition. In some studies, keratoconus is linked to/ a complication of celiac disease. -
ARCHIVED Could Someone Tell Me If This Marinara Sauce Has Gluten?
gigifree replied to lolololo's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If you list the product type and company we could research whether this specific product has gluten or not purposely in it, if it has a high risk of cross contaimination from where it is made, or the unreliablity of the products they use. I follow this simple rule, if the company does not list their product as gluten-free, it means it's not. I switched... -
ARCHIVED About Gluten In Nature's Way Vitamins
gigifree posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I contacted (email) Nature's way about whether their chastetree herbal product had gluten or not, and this was their response to me: Thank you for contacting Natures Way a Schwabe North America company. It is good to know you are interested in living a healthy lifestyle. I see you would like some additional information about our Vitex Fruit and if... -
Hi, I just joined this forum yesterday and I my posts were looking for a reliable chasteberry/vitex product. I would love to know what brand/product you used that was gluten-free, and how it worked for you? I hope to hear from you soon, gigi

ARCHIVED Crap! I Was Gluttened....
gigifree replied to pain*in*my*gut's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Whole foods is horrible! When I first went gluten-free-free (though not carefully) to see if I have a gluten intolerance, I would get prepared chicken and salads there. I never got better. To make things worse, I went in looking for a multi-vitamine with iron that was gluten-free and the girl gave me a supplement that had gluten in it. Of course,... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Tried Vitex/chasteberry?
gigifree posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I have elevated prolactin and have read that an herb called vitex, (aka chaseberry), can lower prolactin and regulate the other hormones that went out of wack because of the high prolactin. I wanted to know if anyone has tried this herbal supplement here, because high prolactin is a common problem with celiacs? And if so, what brand/product did you use... -

I don't think so. I think my fatigue is related to vitmins defficiency and hormones levels awack. -
ARCHIVED Still Fatigued
gigifree replied to gigifree's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Wow, your fatigue resolved is a short-time. I been eating gluten-free diet for a year now. I just started taking iron/b12. I really need to get my hormones levels balanced too. Problem I have is, I am stuck with no nothing doctors, so finding this forum (just joined yesterday) is a dream come true. I think it's just gluten for me. I do not have the... -
ARCHIVED Anyone Take Years To Heal Brain Fog And Fatigue?
gigifree replied to Twizzel's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am in the same boat you are. The gluten-free diet has made most of my problems go away, except for a few. I am still fatigued. I am taking an Iron/B12 for this (called Floravital) and probably need to take something else to help me, though doctors are no help. Maybe it just takes time? Hang in there. I am thinking that your hormones may be out of... -
ARCHIVED Still Fatigued
gigifree posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Okay, went on the Gluten-Free diet and all my stomach and other problems went away except three: brain fog, no period, and fatigue. For about 2 months, I've been taking Iron/B12 for this (Floravital if anyone is interested), it has improved somewhat, but I'm still dragging, have brain fog sometimes, and no period. How long will it take, until I get... -
I have celiac disease and elevated prolactin. I've read that vitex (aka chasteberry) can lower prolactin and normalize some of the other hormones too. Has anyone taken it here, since high prolactin is common among celiacs? IF so, I am looking for a reliable gluten-free product that has worked, so can you tell me which one you used? Thanks alot, Gigi
