  1. oooooh. yuck. glad you told me so i can prepare myself. i've never had stitches before.
  2. Ok - that totally makes sense. I'm just going to keep my appointment in case they can culture it. Crossing my fingers it's not too late
  3. thanks Pricklypear1971 - It was already biopsied for staph and it came up positive. Are you saying there's a chance that was wrong?
  4. Hi Everyone, I've recently accepted that I'm celiac (170 on tissue transglutaminase with 1-14 being normal & a miraculous recovery from being unable to eat almost anything for over 4 weeks, to feeling AMAZING in just a few days of being gluten free) - however, i have not had a formal diagnosis. This all came about 3 weeks after I had a c-section with...
  5. Thanks pricklypear1971... you poor thing! that sounds awful. Luckily, the 2 lesions on my head do seem to be healing... I'm sort of expecting more to pop up though. i guess only time will tell. I wonder if it does have something to do with breastfeeding though... i'm planning on continuing until my little one is at least a year so if that's part of why these...
  6. Thanks justlisa. The biopsy results showed that it IS staph but NOT the MSRA strain (thank goodness - I know it is very aggressive and doesn't react to most antibiotics). Before we even got the positive staph diagnosis, my dr put me on bactrim - i tried to take all of it - i lasted 5 days (i was supposed to take it for 7). On the sixth day, I couldn't take...
  7. Ok. Maybe I AM looking for a way out of this... thank you all for your 'brutal honesty' I am trying (hard!) to accept that I have celiac... but something in the back of my mind keeps telling me 'maybe you don't have it!'... I know this is probably a coping mechanism or something. I am going to recommit myself to this and start again from scratch. I just...
  8. Thanks ravenwoodglass... I've only been on this diet now for a total of about 2.5 months so the answer to your question is yes, EVERYTHING has changed about my diet in the last few months But, I do feel like i've been diligent about my own diet (eating almost 100% whole foods only) and since going gluten-free, i haven't changed anything. I have been eating...
  9. Hi everyone... so I posted a few months back after having a c-section with my 2nd child and becoming extremely ill 3 weeks later. My doctors ran every test in the book and finally 4 weeks later my GI specialist came back telling me that my tissue transglutaminase was at 170 with 1-14 being normal and that I needed to stop eating gluten immediately to see...
  10. Thank you all so much for your suggestions and support! It makes such a big difference knowing that others have gone through similar situations and survived (half joking, i know i'll survive no matter what happens here . Anyways, I spoke to a lactation consultant today who gave me some more good tips and I think i'm going to do my best to continue nursing...
  11. I posted yesterday on the "Pre-Diagnosis" board with my story and quickly realized that I need to accept that I very likly DO have celiac. You can find my post under "Brand new Baby + 'Possible' Celiac Diagnosis" for the back story if you want more info. Long story short, I'm 34 and just had my 2nd baby via c-section 7 weeks ago. Three weeks after her birth...
  12. Thank you Diana. I really appreciate your note - I know we will get through this! I actually am at my parents house in Colorado for the time being (my husband and 2 year old stayed home in California) so I could focus on getting better and taking care of my infant. Hopefully I'm doing the right thing, I didn't know what else to do...
  13. Hi kareng - yes, sorry I should have been more clear on that. The test came back a week or so later and my GI Dr told me that a 'normal' reading would be between 0-19 and that my number was 170. thanks!
  14. I'm a 34 year old female with a 2 1/2 year old son and a 7 week old daughter who was born via c-section due to being breach. Prior to my c-section, I had never had surgery or had any medical issues (that i know of). I lead an active lifestyle and exercise and eat healthfully. Three weeks after I had my daughter, I got what we thought was a very bad stomach...
