  1. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  2. Thank you both for the recommendations! That will be very helpful in sorting out where to go - I'm excited to eat Mexican there - it's one of my favorites. Thanks so much for all the info! Max
  3. Hi - we're heading to Austin and San Antonio this week...any great recommendations for restaurants (with 3 kids between 8-13) I'm the only one with celiac though. Thanks in advance! Max

    ARCHIVED Chillis

I was at the Chili's in Manchester, NH last weekend and they were great, the manager printed out the menu and stayed right on top of it. They weren't sure of the chips however, since they didn't use a dedicated fryer. But overall, they were awesome and I had no problems with a plain cheeseburger..
  5. Adam, I'd love to know how the Lakefront is and if you are successful in getting it distributed around here! Keep us posted... max
  6. I agree, it's very sweet, great idea to try the lime...it's just nice to have it around.
  7. Hi Diana, they have just started carrying Ramapo Valley at the Beverly Wine and Beer store in North Beverly. I don't know if this is close to you at all, but I was very excited! max
  8. I was diagnosed about two years ago, fairy asymptomatic, just not feeling great, then some of the intestinal issues began, but sporadic. I was very fortunate that my doctor tested me for celiac, without me even knowing, since I never would have linked it to food. Had the biopsy, etc. Had very elevated blood levels, went gluten free and have been doing great...
  9. Hi Jennifer, sorry you've had such a tough time with this. I was diagnosed at 40, after having three kids, no miscarriages, thankfully. I did have hair loss, which continued after a year of being gluten-free, then I realized my thyroid levels were changing as my body healed. I have hypothyroidism, and adjusting that level helped my hairloss alot. Good...
  10. I have to agree! I went to the one in Scottsdale on Monday night and I was like a little kid! The pizza was sooo good, and a gluten free beer, and no explanations necessary! It was heaven!
  11. Thanks Jenn - we're staying with a friend of mine in Scottsdale, so she's got it all worked out! I can't wait to try the pizza though! Thanks for the offers! max
  12. Yes I am! It's my first marathon...and I must say it was a bit of a bummer when they announced that Powerbar was supplying the gel and energy drink...none of their stuff is considered gluten-free! But otherwise I'm very excited!
  13. Thanks for telling us about this, I'm heading out to AZ next week run a marathon, and would love nothing more than a pizza and beer after!! Can't wait to try it out!
  14. I'd love a copy, unzipped! Thanks so much.. mscarr@verizon.net
  15. I have had continuing hair loss issues as well, they seemed to get better when I went gluten-free, and now they are acting up again, and my thyroid is off, so I think the thyroid balance is thrown off by the healing since going gluten-free, and the thyroid may be the issue now. At least I hope so...just changed the dosage of my thyroid meds, so hopefully...
  16. Thanks for sharing that Ruth, Dr. Kelly is my doc, and he's great. MaryAnn
  17. I'd love one too, thanks so much! mscarr@verizon.net
  18. Hi Beverly, there is an awesome restaurant in Beverly MA with tons of gluten-free food, and a very understanding staff - let me know if you are going to be in the area and we can have lunch there! It's called the Organic Garden, it's on Cabot Street. My email is mscarr@verizon.net. MaryAnn
  19. Hi Rachel, I have hypo too, and was diagnosed with celiac about 18 months ago - but I'm now having my hair fall out quite a bit (again) ...I guess time to get the thyroid levels checked!
  20. Hey Beth, I'm on the North Shore too, in Manchester...where are you??
  21. Hi Jen, this is my first posting, but I wanted to recommend a dr and nutritionist in Boston. I use Dr. Kieran Kelly at Beth Isreal, and his nutritionist, Melinda Dennis, who also has celiac disease, so she knows her stuff. Good luck!
