Very similar things happened to me when I started college about ten years ago. The most noticeable problem for me, though, was the bloody stool. My doctors just couldn't believe that I hadn't left the country or been exposed to some kind of parasite. Fast forward 4yrs and a doctor finally decided I needed a colonoscopy. They discovered I have ulcerative colitis...
