  1. Thanks for the reply. And yes, my biopsy was inconclusive, otherwise I wouldn't be interested in the gluten challenge. My doctor has suggested that there are other causes, but they are more unlikely, such as other food allergies or some other conditions that are more rare. Thanks!
  2. The reasons for the challenge are the reasons I stated in the original post--my blood tests were negative and my biopsies were inconclusive. The tests aren't always accurate or conclusive. I want to find out if gluten is really a problem for me, so I'm going to eat it and see if I get sick again. I've read about it all over the place as a way to help confirm...
  3. A brief history--All of my blood tests were negative for celiac, but my biopsies showed some intestinal damage and my doctors (I've seen two now) both agree that I am probable celiac but are uncomfortable diagnosing for sure because my intestinal damage is not bad enough that they can rule out all other causes. I've been on a very strict gluten-free diet...
  4. About 8 weeks ago I had a scope done and my doctor said my biopsy was inconclusive but he saw minor signs of beginning celiac disease. I have been gluten free ever since and actually began feeling a lot better. Up until this point I've continued to eat things that had no gluten ingredients and continued eating at restaurants and was just fine and not sensitive...
  5. Thank you to all of those who posted. I started a gluten free diet again and am just wondering a few things. I've read online that even the smallest amount of gluten can be problematic, but if I'm wondering if that is true for everyone or just people with extreme sensitivity to gluten. Given that my blood test were negative and my biopsy was inconclusive...
  6. Online, it shows my test results and all it says is that these tests were done (all were negative): GLIADIN IGA AB (DEAMIDATED) GLIADIN IGG AB (DEAMIDATED) TISSUE TRANSGLUTAMINASE IGA AB IGA I'm not sure if this is helpful to you?
  7. Thanks for the reply. I had 4 different blood tests all checking IGA and IGG and all were negative. The doctor said that the result was not conclusive and that the biopsy was not positive. He used the word "suggestive." I have not had genetic tests done but nobody in my family has celiac. I had an endoscopy and colonoscopy that were both negative for other...
  8. I have had all the tests for celiac done and they have been negative, except for my biopsy which showed some "minor features consistent with celiac." Many times I eat things like pizza and white bread just fine and have no problems. I'm wondering if just cutting back on gluten might help my symptoms, or if I really have to go 100% gluten free. If I am really...
  9. I am a 25 year old male. Within the last year or two I've developed symptoms which include mild nausea here and there (usually in the morning) but sometimes will come up later in the day as well as some stomach burning/heartburn at night. I also often have a feeling of urgency in my rectum although I don't actually have to go to the bathroom. Rarely do I...
