  1. Thank you for the suggestions and answers. Still itching but not nearly as bad, and hives have gone. My GP was not overly concerned at all and said "Probably something you ate." Ya think?! Anyway I will be giving all this information to the GI on Monday and hope he will be more attentive than my GP. I know I should still be eating glutten but because I have...
  2. I have been trying so very hard to be gluten-free and Lactose free for the last few weeks, and I honestly think I have the lactose thing handled, gluten-free is still giving me problems as I am uncertain of a lot of products and with the holidays and all who knows what could have had it, but I tried to stick to the whole foods and simple foods but in resteraunts...
  3. Lilian, Sorry you are having to deal with all this but know you are not alone. I am new to the whole situation as well and I can absolutely relate to you and your symptoms. I have gone through mutitudes of tests and have an endoscopy coming up next month. I don't have faith in a lot of these tests anymore or maybe it's the Docotrs (idk). I also become very...
  4. I roasted some red peppers with onions and broccoli and grilled some nice sized portobello mushroom caps for dinner last night but somewhere along the way yesterday I must have eaten lactose or gluten because I wasn't able to eat dinner still working on feeling better today. Probably try some veggie stuffed chicken tonight and roasted potatoes, maybe I will...
  5. Just an added thought for those that are also dairy free you can sub the butter with mashed avacado or apple sauce.
  6. Bought a gluten-free cook book with tons of crock pot recipes. Asking for the Gluten free on a Shoestring books for Christmas. Tonight some pasta with tomato and basil. Laura, when and if I can do lactose again I will try the hotdogs.
  7. Thanks for sharing! I am going to try this for a holiday brunch at work.
  8. New to all this, tonight acron squash and chicken. Looking at so many recipes can't wait to try them. Did my grocery shopping yesterday, can't believe how long it took me.
  9. Thanks SMRI I called yesterday on the way home from work and told them to schedule the endoscopy. They said they'd call and then let me know when the appointment is. I'm going to go ahead and keep my same diet until I go to the appointment (sigh) I hate feeling this way.
  10. After all my reading I am assuming that too. Especially when I read things that say a person needs to consume the equivelent of 1-2 slices of bread a day, OMG I can't even imagine that anymore. I do know I am tired of feeling sick all the time and ready to start this new life and feel better. I am afraid of how awful i would feel if I did eat that much gluten...
  11. Okay so I just called my GP office (I so need to get a new one) They had the results but of course I needed to call to get them, God forbid they would call me (typical). Whomever I talked to (recpetionist) Said "oh yes they mailed you out information" Gee thanks for making me wait longer! Anyway back on topic... My lactose test was postive (Go figure...
  12. Thank you for the comments. I agree a 100% household probably would be easier than just a single person. I guess my concern was more towards having to get them to be gluten free not only at home but when they are not with me. They are teenagers and it's hard to monitor when they are in and out all day, friends, parties, outings. I suppose I just have to impress...
  13. Hello, I just found this forum today and already am so happy that I did. Yesterday I had blood work drawn for Gluten and also a long drawn out icky lactose test that made me so ill (still trying to recover from that one.) I have never been diagnosed with Celiac or a lactose intolerance but for years now I have been dealing with so many symptoms that have...
