I got some great info in my other thread about which tests are needed for the celiac panel. Now I'm wondering if I should ask for vitamin deficiency tests and which ones? I will probably have to tell my doctor exactly which tests I want because this isn't his speciality. He has agreed to run every test on me that his lab can do, I just need to let him know...

Yes! Just got an email from my thyroid specialist that he will run the celiac panel on me!!! I just need a referral from my GP! He says he can do pretty much any blood test as the lab in his practice is quite sophisticated. Shouldn't be too hard to get the referral either. Hopefully I can get tested next week instead of July! Is it sad I have my fingers...

Thank you! I will definitely keep you posted. I'm thinking I will go off gluten, regardless what the tests say and see how that goes. I'm tempted to do that now but of course I want accurate test results.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the encouragement! I think this is all made harder by the fact that I'm not obviously sick, however, I know *something* is off with my body. I feel like people that haven't been through something like this don't take it seriously. For the most part my husband is supportive but sometimes I think even he thinks this is all...

I have a whole slew of appointments in the next few months to figure out what is wrong with me. I'm really worried about seeing the neurologist for the MRI in case this is something neurological. (I've been having muscle twitches and headaches). Aside from that I have an appt. with a psychiatrist for anxiety and a rheumatologist for the joint/muscle pain...

Thank you for your response. It's so tricky because a lot of these symptoms can go unnoticed. I just realized today I can't even remember the last time I had a solid bm...I haven't had bad diarrhoea but it's also not solid and it floats (sorry for tmi). Usually it's pretty urgent if I have to go.I have had diarrhea 1-2 days a month but I just blamed it on...

I'm still waiting to see my gastro..but from what I have read you can have celiac without symptoms. That's why they usually screen high risk groups for it annually (type I diabetes for example). Unfortunately the damage can still be there In any case, wishing you the best! Hope you can get a definitive answer one way or another.

I would get a new GP but I'm kind of scared of switching doctors...I guess because I've seen so many over the years for various things, I know how some can be complete a** holes...my GP is a nice guy and will write me any prescription for my diabetes that I want. I guess that is what keeps me with him, even during times of frustration. I live in Germany so...
