  1. I don't have celiac. I just know that when I eat gluten I get migraines, depression and diahrea. Any time I have been accidentally been glutened in the past 2 years, I have a couple of really bad days. Also, my energy level has increased without gluten. Is it possible for a gluten sensitivity to resolve itself? That would be amazing news. I would love to...
  2. I drank a couple of Best Damn Root beers before I realized they were not gluten free. They are brewed with barley. I have been gluten free 2 1/2 years now because I have bad gastro problems, migraines and depression when I eat wheat. I was just wondering if it is possible to be only reacting to wheat and not barley, or what might be going on. Is it possible...
  3. I haven't found one worth eating. I would like to know the answer. I just eat my burgers bunless. But I haven't found any loaf bread that I like either.
  4. I have been to several restaurants and some have gluten free menus and some don't. sometimes I am given that wonderful notebook of anything you could possibly be allergic to . When I ask for something from the gluten free menu, I am often asked, "allergy or preference?" Does this seem a little personal? I am not celiac but will have a migraine, diarrhea...
  5. I was depressed for 40 years. Twenty-five of those I was on antidepressants. I was able to go off my antidepressants 6 months after going gluten free. If I am accidentally glutened now besides my intestinal problems I get a migraine and feel depressed for a couple of days.
  6. I have a problem with oats, even gluten free steel cut oats cause stomach cramping.
  7. I have a weird question. When I was 15 I had the whole prick test for allergies. The doctor only did inhalant allergies because he said that I did not have stomach troubles at the time so obviously I did not need tested for foods. The test revealed a sever allergy to every kind of grass there is. He said yard grass, grass in the woods, and hay. I cannot even...
  8. I went gluten free 2 years ago on an elimination diet. After 6 weeks, my headaches, diarrhea, and depression disappeared. My 25 year old daughter has the same depression and headaches. She is on antidepressants but they are no longer working. We have a family history of depression. I am going with her to the doctor next week to get her thyroid checked, hypothyroid...
  9. Thanks Bartfull. I do NOT want to eat gluten again. I would have to take Immodium and an antidepressant again. I am ok to just continue this way if it doesn't matter.
  10. I was told by my endocrinologist (hypothyroid) that I have insulin resistance. Two years ago I did an elimination diet and discovered that gluten seemed to be the source of all of my health problems. Headaches, 15 years of diarrhea, depression, fatigue. All gone. I have stayed off of gluten since then, and seldom have a problem with contamination. I have...
