  1. Hello Kelly I have been gluten free since April 25, 2006 and I have lost between 8-10 Pounds without trying. My friends told me they could tell the bloating was down the second day because my face and hands weren't as chunky. The abdominal pain associated with bloating went away after a week. I have been eating alot of the substitute items for...
  2. Hello Everyone! I got my biopsy results today and they are negative. Four biopsies were taken. I didn't get a copy of the results yet but I am going to request a copy. I did have elevated IgG on the celiac blood panel tests. I do have anemia and hypothyroidism. I have been gluten free since April 25. My Doctor agreed to diagnose me with a gluten...
  3. Hello Everyone JerseyAngel, Thank you for the list of safe drinks. I noticed budweiser wasn't on there. My co-workers tell me it's made from rice and should be safe, but I think I will stick with what's on the list. I don't like Budweiser anyway. About makeup, do you know if Dr.Hauschka makeup is okay? I hear that they sell this makeup in whole...
  4. Hello Everyone! I had my biopsy Tuesday, April 25. The Doc took 4 samples. I made an appointment with my family practitioner May 9 for the results. My blood test was inconclusive because IgA was normal but IgG was elevated. I have experienced several pregnancy/miscarriages. I was also diagnosed with anemia and hypothyroidism. I also have a nephew...
  5. Hello everyone Part A lI left last Thursday to stay with my family over Easter. I came home Monday night. My dr's nurse had left several messages on my machine saying I had a biopsy scheduled for me the next day. However, I had to go to work, so I canceled the biopsy and I rescheduled for April 25. The internist who does the biopsies only comes...
  6. Hello Everybody Thank you all for your posts. This message board is really helping me through this. Ursula, I have asked my Dr's nurse to check and see if hypothyroidism can be connected in someway to celiac disease. I did start taking the medication but I think I am supposed to get a lab appointment scheduled in two months to test for hypothryroidism...
  7. Hello Everyone I have my blood test results and I got a copy of the results. For Celiac Disease, I was not diagnosed. An endoscopy was recommended and I didn't schedule it. Antigliadin Abs,IgG was 16, Above 9 is positive (positive for what?) Anticardiolipin was 11, (11-19 is inderterminate.) t-Transblutaminase (tTg) IgA was 1 (Weak positive...
  8. Hello Monicaleestudios Let me know what happens when you have beer and pasta after being gluten free for a while. I'd really like to know. I think it's smart to get a second opinion on your blood results. Good luck. -Aquina
  9. Hello Everyone! Stacie - Thanks for the advice. I 'm going to request a copy of the lab results and get a second opinion. I find out tomorrow about the blood tests and I'm a little scared. I wasn't scared before, but now I'm getting a little worried.
  10. Hello Erin No. My nephew was not gluten free before the blood test or endo. The Dr told my sister to eat normally until he was officially diagnosed. -Aquina
  11. Hello erin My sixteen month old nephew had negative blood results and a positive biopsy. -Aquina
  12. Hello Monicaleestudios:D It seems that a gluten free diet is the only sure way to know. I haven't actually had the blood test results yet but I think they are going to be negative because of a message a nurse left on my machine today. I'm not sure if I'm going to do a biopsy or not. It seems that a biopsy may miss the early stages or not...
  13. Hello Everyone:D I went to the Dr April 4th. The Dr did the full blood panel for celiac disease, along with a test for Lupus, anemia, calcium levels and thyroid. I was supposed to get the results today. The Nurse left a message on my machine at 5:00pm that said, "There's nothing to be alarmed about. Call me next week to go over the results....
  14. Hello Everyone! I went to the Dr today and requested the full panel be tested. The Dr also decided to test for anemia, something to check the calcium and strangely, Lupus. She also suggested a test for endometriosis and fibroids. Instead of telling my doctor my symtoms etc, I typed up everything. It took me three pages. The Doctor appreciated...
  15. Hello Everyone! Monicaleestudios, I'm glad you're not letting your concerns worry you too much. I've been fairly successful at ignoring the whole thing. If I have it, I'll make some changes. If I don't, I'll know for sure and at the very least, I'll be a lot more understanding to those who do have celiac disease including my darling little nephew...
  16. Hello Everyone! monicaleestudios, I hope everything goes well with your testing on Monday. I have an initial appointment with a doctor on Tuesday. I have also been a little afraid to eat any gluten and I've been dreading going to work. The prospect of changing a lifestyle is scary. Also, and I don't know a whole lot about celiac disease but...
  17. Hello JerseyAngel, Carriefaith, mommida (Laura), gabby and eleep:D JerseyAngel and Carriefaith, I'm glad you two posted earlier. Thanks mommida, I hope to find some yummy treats I can make for the nephew (he's the fifteen month old who was diagnosed with celiac disease). Yesterday, I talked to my sister and she is having her daughter checked...
  18. Hello Carriefaith, BrenP and JerseyAngel! Carriefaith, Thank you so much for listing exactly what I need to ask for. That way I will be sure of any results the test comes back with. Also I assume that you moved my question to the proper forum. Thanks, I didn't notice this one earlier. BrenP, yeah, I'm a bit worried about how celiac disease...
  19. Hello Everyone! In February, my mother and I went from Minnesota to Washington DC to visit my sister and her family. We stayed for 10 days. The third day we were there, my sister received confirmation from the doctor that her 15 month old son has celiac disease. I felt sorry for him but honestly I didn't think much about it. This morning...
