  1. I'm from Peterborough too. The local Association IS pretty quiet - largely due to lack of membership, and busy people who are members. I self diagnosed about 4 years ago, and got a definitive diagnosis about 3 years ago. I've suffered from Dermatitis Herpetiformous for about 20 years. My youngest daughter is starting to exhibit signs too but is...
  2. I get severe bloating (to the point where I can't wear my pants), and cramping like no tomorrow. It runs from the front to the back and feels like I'm in labour (only 10 times worse). Sometimes it's so bad I feel like I'm going to be sick to my stomach from the pain. The pain often runs up my back (that's probably muscle spasms). It's usually accompanied...
  3. I guess I must be really lucky. For my birthday, my boss and co-workers got me the biggest fruit bowl I've ever seen. In lieu of a regular b'day cake. They even put a candle in the middle. There was also a yogourt dip for the fruit to go with it. Guess I should count my blessings. I do however understand the frustrations - I really envy the people...

It starts within 20 minutes of ingesting gluten and can last anywhere from a couple hours to a couple days. I have a friend who has Celiac Disease as well, and she can be laid out with pain for days. So in answer to your question - yes other people...

I'm thinking when that happen's I've suffered and accidental glutening. They usually go away in a couple of days. I also take Dapsone to keep the rash at bay, so when...
  6. I had a similar experience recently. I don't know if I'd been glutened or not, but it was a nasty cold sore. I used some hydrocortosone cream. It cooled it, and helped it heal. Good luck
  7. I'm new to this board, but received a definitive diagnosis about 2 years ago, but had self diagnosed about a year before that. I understand the frustrations during holiday times. I find it even more frustrating when I have to attend 'pot lucks' at work or training sessions where there's a lunch or dinner provided. My close family and friends are very...
