Pasta With Italian Sausage

My new favorite Gluten Free Pasta: Open Original Shared Link One of my favorite meals ever... Pasta with sauce and Italian Sausage. That was pre-celiac-diagnosis. Since finding out I have to live gluten free I have spent countless hours researching brands of sauce, tasting different brands of gluten free pasta, and usually avoiding sausage, unsure if gluten might be hiding in the spices or even the casing. All of this includes shopping at 9 different stores and on a few online sites as well. A couple days ago I stopped into a fruit market I had not shopped at in years. My husband pointed out a bag of gluten free penne pasta that looked unfamiliar to me, a brand I had never tried. "Ok, throw it in the cart" I said, rather half heartedly. I have tried so very many brands of gluten free pasta, most leaving me rather dissapointed. I decided to cook it today, along with some Italian sausage I purchased from Costco (labeled gluten free!!!!!) and a delicious pasta sauce from Meijer (Meijer Gold Brand with crumbled italian sausage in it) which Meijer confirmed to me is gluten free. I just have to say how impressed I am. That pasta tastes like real pasta! The texture is like real pasta! It cooked to a perfect al dente texture and I did not even have to smother it in sauce to drown out a "different" flavor! Tasting it to check for doneness, plain, it tasted like real pasta. Even my other favorite brand (Tinkyada) can't compare with that. (To me Tinkyada is great except plain.) For those of you who are interested in this rare treasure, visit Open Original Shared Link
