Ok here goes nothing... This is my first attempt at blogging so bare with me. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in June this year and have since been on a quest to find all things gluten-free in Raleigh, NC. There are some folks in this town already established in this realm and new folks coming on all the time. I would like to use this blog to highlight these people and to drum up exposure for them and hopefully draw others into the game. Most gluten-free blogs are mainly recipe blogs so I will not be going that direction (I'm not the best cook anyway). This blog will focus on letting the Celiac's of Raleigh know where they can find gluten-free products and my personal experiences with restaurants around town. My goal is to provide a service of sorts so that other gluten-free folks can have a little easier life.

hey good idea even though i do not live in NC i commend you for trying to help those that do..there is an awesome place in nyc that i go to it has a lot of gluten free products(i dont know if your into ordering and having them shipped but they are great taste exactly like regular food.thanks for helping us fellow sufferers!!!!

      I should add that hookworms aren't a cure for celiac disease. Some people, and I couldn't tell you how many, stop evincing the symptoms of celiac disease while their hookworm colonies are healthy. Others have a reduction in the severity of their reactions to gluten, but should still stay well away from it. And other people don't seem to be helped much at...

      I was lucky (!) in that I would very quickly get sick after ingestion with something contaminated with gluten so it was easy to figure out the offender. I also had a very restricted diet and only ever introduced one new food item per day for this very reason. One memory that sticks out was pistachios.
