  1. Thank you!!!!! I was having a minor panic attack there. I survive on those things. Well, those and ice cream...
  2. Hey... Well, my mom was looking for gluten-free easter candy and ran across a refrence that Pamela's cookies are NOT gluten free! Well, we all promptly started freaking out, as we have those in our refrigerator. (Sorry I've been away anyway... busy.) So I'm now looking for proof of that statement, so HELP!!! If you have any info that would be great. I really...
  3. I love Dragons in Our Midst as well!!! I was a little sceptical at 1st because I daon't read a lot of fantasy, but I could not put them down, they're awesome!!!

  4. Halloo! I have acne and terrible Dandruff. My gluten-free diet hasn't helped these much. What I do though, is I use a wonderful magical lovely thing called T-gel. It takes a while to get used to the smell in the shower, but the smell washes out. ^^ It's great, though you can't use it every day. I also go to my dermatologist and use another wonderful thing...
  5. Except here it's... COLORFUL!!! Oh, And I must go.... Piano practice... >.<
  6. NIKKI???!!!! *tackleglomps* It's LightInTheDarkness from Celiacteens! This is random... I recognized your siggy... if this is the wrong person then by all means I apologize.
  7. Oh, I've run into this problem a lot. I've found that the only solution is to be assertive! Kindly assertive, but assertive. You need to step foreward and say, "Oh, I can't eat the chicken nuggets, is there any way I could get the sandwitch instead?" I know if feels rude, but if the mom knows about celiac, they generally don't mind. I't hard, but the only...

  11. Oh man, I totally share your frustration. For three looooong months of cracked lips, I couldn't find a brand that would SWEAR they were gluten-free. It's infuriating. If you could tell us what brand it is then I might be able to verify it or find out for you. (I've had lots of practie! *groan*) I finally ended up using burts bees. It TINGLES!!!
  12. WElcome to the forum! Well... I love the Quaker rice cakes too, but usally if there's a chance of CC, I end up getting it. So, yeah, like Stargirl said, I'd stick with the things that I KNOW are gluten-free for a couple months. Luckily, there are lots of subsitutes that taste pretty good. It is a journey of trial and error, so expect stumbling blocks. But...
  13. Heyness! Welcome to the boards! I completely understand. I've been Gluten-free for four months. I had it easier than you, since my mom been gluten-free for a year or so. But ANYWAY... I can help y'all on the bread issues. There is this awesome bread called Chebe bread. It is God's gift to Celiac mankind. Look for it, I think they sell it a lot of stores....
  14. Oh man, I pity you. I understand completely. I find that the best thing to do is to eat (or in my case go on the computer... I was addicted to things I shouldnt've done forever) in the presence of others. Make sure friends/family are around all the time. It helps.
  15. I, for one, love some of the old classics such as... Road to Bali Jack and the Beanstalk Taming of the Shrew My Girl Friday ANything with Bing Crosby and Bob Hope^^ Who rock. NOw, for modern favs... Not all these are lighthearted, so... yeah. All Star Wars Ratitoulle (I know I spelled that wrong... -.-) Pirates of the Carribean (Halleluja...
  16. In Europe, they are somewhat more... informed of Celiac, considering they have a Hotshot doctor that's spread the word.... I heard that in Italy they test every kindergardener for Celiac.
  17. I'll be gone two weeks... and It's a HUGE missions trip. Like, people from all over the world are going. Brio is a Christian teen magazine that a lot of people read. 18. Ohh... I wish I could ride horses... :'( I CAN, but western is more fun. I have a hard time staying on the horse when I ride english. O.o
  19. Hello! I would love to go on the Brio Missions trip to Peru... but I've got a problem. Celiac! Now, normally, traveling to SA wouldn't be a problem... but a Missions trip is differant. We have regimented meals and mealtimes. Brio supplies the food, which i'm sure isn't Gluten free. I probably wouldn't be able to go and find food. (And I only speak survival...
  20. What kind of toothpaste are you using? My Mom used sensodine and it gave her mouth sores because it had gluten in it. SOme toothpastes or mouthwashes have gluten, so i suggest you check them carefully.
  21. ^^ I just noticed this, but you have vitaligo? I have a little bit too... On my chin. Or Jaw. Or somthing like that. (I hate science) I don't like to cook a lot, but... well, the microwave is one of the greatest inventions of mankind. End of story. And HOMESCHOOLERS ROCK!
  22. South FL? Anyone? (Yeah, I've already posted here, but WHO'S gonna look way in the middle for my post, I ask?)
  23. You can wear the crown. Other than the brownies, which I steal from you. (And I make mine from a box... O.o Theuy are the best eva!) But in just about everything else that doesn't involve a microwave, you win. I'm no cook. (I like to cook... but that's differant. Not talent whatsoever.)
  24. Okay. Before I start on doctors, let me point out something. A lot of doctors do not know about Celiac. It used to be taught that celiac was rare and only found in small children. But now, doctors still do not know and they SHOULD. There are a few doctors that do test for celiac and things. My pediatrition grabbed my mom's book on Celiac and read it... I...
  25. Welcome! Ah... about the supplements. I don't really know a lot, but I do know this. Because our intestines are not absorbing nutrients properly, we sometimes need to take supplements. I take Iron, Calcium, and some Teen Girls multivitamin. I suggest you research the topic and get some input from your doctor on which nutrients are deficient. I was anemic...
