I've had GI issues since childhood. Diagnosed with IBS when I was 20 and sent on my way. Suffered for the next almost 20 years until I read something about Celiac's while researching abdominal pain for a friend. Realized I had many of the symptoms and after many more months and much more research and some trial and error learning about gluten, I decided to try going gluten free. It's only been a couple weeks, but I can definitely feel a change and on the two occasions I've been glutened, I felt it within just a couple of hours both times.

  1. mommyof4, I've only been gluten-free for a couple weeks, but got glutened twice already (big learning curve here). My symptoms were definitely worse than when I was eating it on a regular basis.
  2. I'm go glad I found this thread. I just joined this forum and yesterday posted about how I get irritable beyond description (like PMS on steroids) after eating gluten. I feel like I have just been validated. I was glutened over the weekend and have been fighting with my partner now for the past three days (not normal for us). It was like we were both just angry and taking it out on each other. I can feel my anger lifting finally as of this morning and now I just feel sad because we were arguing over stupid stuff.
