ARCHIVED Good News For Malnourished And Underweight.
Guinevere replied to Guinevere's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I had no problem eating after i drank the shake. i plan on taking it regularly, probably several times a week, not in place of a meal, but as my drink with a meal. i did not find it to be "filling," but i did find it to be tasty. i suppose a person could use it for weight loss if that's what their needs are, but i find no reason not to add it to a meal... -
ARCHIVED Worms Maybe?
Guinevere replied to Lister's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
it is not difficult to do a parasite cleanse. go to your local health food store and ask for help. most professionals reccomend doing a fiber drink as well to help remove the dead parasites, just make sure both products are gluten free. -
ARCHIVED Good News For Malnourished And Underweight.
Guinevere posted a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I was in Whole Foods yesterday and stumbled upon a product called Vega. While it claims to be so nutritionally complete, I feel it could benefit some of us malnourished and underweight people who might use it as an added meal/nourishment basis. Or for those days when we've been glutened, or for those days when we're sick, etc. This stuff is virtually made... -

ARCHIVED Question About Gas
Guinevere replied to odcdinah's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
it took me only a few days to feel better after eliminating dairy. digestion improved even more with enzymes and probiotics. -
ARCHIVED Newbie Needs Advice Re: Diet!
Guinevere replied to Calicat's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
you've mentioned that you are having a hard time digesting. you might want to consider enzymes (read the lable make sure they don't have lactase if you're giving up dairy) and an enteric coated probiotic. these will help you loads in the digestion, fatigue, gas area. also put in some b6 & b12, which will be lacking if your gut bacteria is not in balance... -
ARCHIVED Bruising? Vitamin K?
Guinevere replied to elfkin's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
i agree that bloodwork might reveal something. also, you can get lots of vitK from spirulina and chlorella, which also happen to have lots of b vitamins, and also serves to alkalize the gut, clean blood, oxygenate the blood, etc. super healthy for you kind of thing, but not very tasty. you can get it in a drink mix at health food/whole foods kind of... -
ARCHIVED Gas, What Is Normal?
Guinevere replied to VydorScope's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease

ARCHIVED Celiac And Candidas, Leaky Gut, Ibs, Etc.
Guinevere replied to Guinevere's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
====================================== if you're just starting, i would not do a whole lot. i would definitely add vitamins, especially all the B, with alot of B6 & 12, i would add probiotics and enzymes - they'll help heal up your gut much faster. then i would just wait and see... ==================================== glad to hear... -

she sounds totally celiac from my perspective!! if it were me, i would not wait for the Dr's diagnosis, i would give her relief and start her on a gluten-free diet immediately!!! you will know better very soon, she'll even know better. someone shared this website with us not too long ago and i am now a regular there. the information available there... -

ARCHIVED How Do People Function Without Sleep?
Guinevere replied to DingoGirl's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
i get insomnia when i'm glutened too. caffeine is so hard on your body, do you drink enough water? dehydration will make you more tired than caffeine can wake you up. dehydration will also give you brain fog and make you generally fatigued. i also agree with the power-nap of 20 minutes, it can go a long way. whenever i get glutened, i immediately... -
ARCHIVED Blaah... I Think I Have Candida
Guinevere replied to aikiducky's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
================================================ two things: one - stop the monistat - you're having what seems like an allergic reaction to it (been there, done that) second - you probably do not have a yeast infection, it sounds bacterial and MUST be diagnosed by your OB. (sorry, i know that's a bummer). i've had years of female stuff, especially... -
ARCHIVED All Of The Healing Is Reversing
Guinevere replied to Lister's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
sounds like you may be detoxing. stool movements change dramatically when the offending (gluten) substance is removed. and it takes a while for that to happen. your body is in a state of major recovery, it is healing itself after a long battle. if you read up on colon cleansing, you'll discover that what you're describing sounds like cleansing and that... -
ARCHIVED Vegetarian Vs Eating Meat
Guinevere replied to schuyler's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Even on Oprah one day they talked about meat being putrified when you eat it. It doesn't digest in our bodies like other things. Also there are studies that say vegetarians live longer on average then meat eaters. ===================================== i recall reading a study containing statistics showing meat eaters having a 40% higher risk for colon... -
ARCHIVED Sick When Eating Anything...!
Guinevere replied to Elizabeth-Elindel's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
sounds like you may have other food intolerances. perhaps you need to do some further eliminating/reintroducing to see if certain things bother you. and i always add that probiotics and enzymes will dramatically help digestive problems. i have been on them the past few weeks and they have made a drastic difference in the legume area. -
ARCHIVED Week Three Gluten Free, Help?
Guinevere replied to LilBetty's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i was depressed too for a while, but like anything else i eventually accepted it. i think you have to grieve for a while, it is a big change that you had no choice in. you have a right to feel angry, sad, depressed, etc. there is a bright side to it all. historically speaking, there has never been a better time for ANYONE to have celiac disease. i know... -
ARCHIVED Have Symptoms But Tested Negative?
Guinevere replied to Guinevere's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
======================================= its a rather long story - that coincides with my rather extensive medical history. i don't need the diagnosis form my records, i want it for all of the Dr's i work with and at present, i am in the midst of filing for SS due to the severity of my arthritis - which i have had for 27 years. i am not able to tolerate... -
ARCHIVED Vegetarian Vs Eating Meat
Guinevere replied to schuyler's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
i am also vegetarian who is lactose free as well. i would NOT consider ever eating meat again. your body has long ago stopped producing the enzymes necessary to break down meat. i do think it sounds like you're a bit heavy on the soy, considering your body's response. you may have to cut it out entirely for a week or so and then reintroduce to see what... -
ARCHIVED Could My Symptoms Be Celiac?
Guinevere replied to DBRIDGEVEGAS's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
if you wait for a test ( blood or endoscopy) you'll be putting yourself through H--- for nothing! I have been gluten free for 3 years and tested negative to both. look into gluten-free foods and just start. its not that bad once you accept it. welcome aboard - good people and excellent information here. -
ARCHIVED Have Symptoms But Tested Negative?
Guinevere replied to Guinevere's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
============================================== i would NOT sacrifice myself for a gluten test. my understanding is that there are other tests one can take without having to undergo gluten exposure. i am looking into the matter. thank you for your support and input. it is much appreciated.
