Ok, I'm Bummed

It's a small thing, but I'm still bummed. I just found out that my favorite fish restaurant, The Flying Fish, puts beer in their hushpuppies.

I thought I had been so careful asking about the gluten and making sure there was no wheat in any of the food. I was assured there was not and have been happily eating there for a few months now. I had noticed that several times I was feeling not so great after eating, but since I had quizzed them about the food, I thought it must be something else making me feel kind of bad. So I didn't tell my husband, or my son, who likes to say the sick feeling is all in my head and I only get sick when I find out there is gluten in something I ate, but would be just fine if I didn't know. (He has celiac disease, too, but is aggravated about having to be on the gluten-free diet since he doesn't have a reaction like I do now)

Well, my husband and I were standing in line the other night and he saw them pouring a bottle of beer into the batter. He asked the cook what he was making and the cook told him, "It's the hushpuppies." "What?!" I said. Sure enough, gluten in the hushpuppies. No more hushpuppies for me. :(

You know what I just noticed? This blog won't let me abbreviate. I always type a C and a D for celiac disease and a G and F for gluten free. The blog always changes it automatically. How did that happen? It annoys me.

Your husband is a split image of my boyfriend, except mine doesn't have Celiac like me! He always says to me that same stuff, like whatever i ate made me sick! Needless to say i'm pretty careful about where we go out to eat and what i eat, but sometime i know i've been contaminated. He just totally brushes it off like i'm making myself sick!
