As soon as my daughter was diagnosed at 7, her pediatrican suggested every first-line blood relative be tested since it is a genetic disease. What you are describing was my husband's main symptom for years before he was diagnosed. His entire face would swell along with his throat. Since being gluten free for over two years now, he has not had the face swelling but does feel throat tightness on occasion. -

Your story sounds very much like ours. My daughter had what appeared to be hives for six months prior to her Celiac diagnosis. She was diagnosed in February and although she has not eaten gluten since, the rash now appears as blisters which looks similar to yours and are located on her arms and lower legs.
