Preparation

So, I am thinking about when YSD is here and what needs to be done before she arrives. I wish I knew for sure if she would be LIVING here full time or here just for a month, because I probably would not go to as much effort to change as much for a short time span... but I also don't want to wait til the last minute to start changing things. I thought I'd make a list of sorts to get me on track and keep me on track.

Celiac.com Sponsor (A13):

  • go through pantry and freezers, finding gluten-free foods we already have. Foods that are not gluten-free try to eat as much of as we can now while YSD is not here.
  • Mark gluten-free foods "gluten-free" so they are easily identifiable.
  • Start looking for staple items that are gluten-free that can be bought now and kept in pantry.
  • Purchase a new toaster & breadmachine for gluten-free use. Also cooking utensils? (need more research into cross contamination and what exactly we need for gluten-free cooking to ensure we don't cross contaminate)
  • Organize pantry for gluten-free and nonGF items. Possibly separate gluten-free from nonGF items in pantry. Assume cans go all go together but boxed goods may need to be better separated?
  • Start a binder of gluten-free recipes to try. Will be doing searching online with YSD to find gluten-free recipes she would like to try.
