  1. Thanks. Yeah my questions are not meant to be asked in a smart-ass type of way, more trying to understand the disease more based on my experience. My gastro doc really couldn't answer my questions other than saying I had to make my own decision based on the first blood test. My confusion is really if I had no symptoms, no increased blood results on my second...
  2. Thanks. Yes I continued gluten free after after 4weeks based in advise from my gastro doc. So if that's the case what wrong with cheating every once in a while? Especially if my first endoscopy shown no damage being on a gluten diet. I have always been told you can't even ingest traces of it.
  3. Over 2yrs ago I was having unknown issues related to immune system. Itching, swollen glands, and also digestive issues. I got a blood test that showed very positive celiac, however the endoscopy scope did not show damage. Some symptoms got better over time and some did not. After 2 yrs I went on a gluten diet of 2 slices of bread for 4weeks and had a repeat...
  4. Ya the biopsy was more to try to find another issue outside of celiac since my gut issues seem unrelated to celiac. Even my first biopsy after a positive blood test came back "no signs of celiac damage"
  5. I am doing the challenge based on my gastro doctor suggesting it. My initial blood test was very high but biopsy didn't show any damage. Doc says there is a chance it was a false positive so I decided to give it a try. I did the test gluten free and it was fine so I am now 3weeks into the challenge and will be redoing the blood test. That should tell us the...
  6. Same with me. I was gluten free for 2yrs and was scared to ingest gluten because of the stories of how I might react. But I was told to go on a gluten challenge and retest. I was scared to start and even held off starting the diet bc work was busy and I didn't want to get sick. However after starting it I didnt feel any different so I guess everybody is different...
  7. 2yrs i was diagnosed with celiac though a blood test (very high transglutaimeigg and iga), even though my endoscopy showed retained villi and "focal intra-epithelial lymphocytosis as the only problem with the test. After 2yrs i have been gluten free, however many digestive symptons did not improve promoting my doctor to look further. Thinking I may have an...
  8. That sounds similar to my issues. I actually had sinus and lymph nodes issues for 2 yrs and saw all the docs I could and nobody could figure it out. It was until wyrs later I started having digestive issues which caused them to look for and find celiac. I have been better since so I am guessing they were all related. Idk.
  9. Ya I definitely have all the remedies down pat including a prescription sinus spray. I guess I am so curious whether this is a celiac symptom alot of people get that is coming back. I guess I could always go off gluten and if it goes away, go back on it for a week and see if it comes back again.
  10. Anybody else have sinus problems as a main symptom of celiac? I went off gluten for over a year due to a positive blood test. Prior to that I had a lot of unknown sinus inflammation (thought it was seasonal changing allergies etc). It has been under control but I went on a gluten containing diet for the last week to get another celiac test. I have felt ok...
  11. Wow, seems like there are so many different reasons why somebody may be or may be not celiac.
  12. Thanks. Ya i guess i will try to co tinue with the gluten diet for a month and if i feel terrible or get breakouts again i will stop and just assume celiac. If not i will just do the blood test after 30days and if it comes back really positive like before, I will again assume celiac. Only way out I guess is no major symptoms and a clear blood test.
  13. Thanks. Thanks. I started the gluten challenge 6days ago with a tiny bit of bread initially and now up to 1 full slice today. I haven't seen any big reactions and I thought most would feel a mid-severe attack within a day. My digestive issues definitely weren't celiac bc they never went away in 18mths i stop eating gluten but I had swollen lymph...
  14. I tested positive for celiac through a high IGG and IGA transglutaime blood test about 18mths ago. However my upper scope biopsy didn't show celiac. I have been gluten free for 18mths since without cheating. My doctor recommended I try to go back on a gluten diet for a month and try the blood test again to double check. Question is....do people with celiac...
  15. Have you heard of celiac disease where you actually can eat a bit of gluten without having symptoms?
