  1. I checked out Market Day Spiral Sliced Ham, it is gluten free. Happy Easter everyone!
  2. My husband was just diagnosed with Celiac. We live just outside of Milwaukee, near Sussex. Anyone from around here?
  3. This is our 1 week anniversary of my husband's celiac diagnosis. His dr also told him that it was ok to cheat, that there may or may not be repercussions depending on how much he ingests. It seems this kind of misinformation is not unheard of.
  4. We weren't very thrilled with it after all. Tasted a bit like I would expect cardboard to taste.
  5. I know it's probably a little late, but I just bought some of this. Combine 1 c warm water and 1 1/2 teaspoons olive or other oil to 2 3/4 custom of dry mix. Beat with an electric mixer for 3 min on high. Form dough into a ball then put on your stone or pan. Roll out to 1/4" think. Bake approx 10 min on lowest oven rack Add sauce and whatever toppings. Brush edge of crust with olive oil. If the bottom of the crust looks brown, move pizze to the middle rack and back another 8-12 min. Otherwise leave on bottom rack and bake.
  6. Hi K! My husband was also just diagnosed, this past Monday. I'd love to compare notes sometime. Another question to pose. When his doctor called him, he said his count was 28, compared to 5 for a normal person, and 300 for a severly gluten intolerant person. What do these numbers mean? Is this a blood count of some sort? I can't seem to find anything online about this. Thanks Sabrina
  7. Hi all! My husband was just diagnosed this past week with Celiac. Believe it or not, I am so excited about this diagnosis! Finally, after 3 years of hell, I can do something to help him! Being from Wisconsin, he is a big beer drinker, and right away found the New Grist that was mentioned. He said it is good. I hope you don't mind that I post here. I'm not a celiac, but I feel in a way I am, as we are now in the process of adjusting our family's diet. We have 2 kids, and will watch them as well. Did any of you have your children tested for the gene that leads to a propensity for celiac? What is the conventional wisdom about testing kids that show no symptoms? Sabrina
