  1. I use the same receipt as Mango above, except I add 1 tsp. of vanilla. Roll into balls, roll in sugar, flatten with fork and bake. I think I bake about 350-375 no more than 10 minutes. For me, the recipe makes maybe 1 1/2 to 2 dozen cookies. Hope this helps.
  2. I think these are some of the best gluten-free cookies I have had. The ginger molasses and chocolate chip are both delicious, and I'm not even much of a chocolate chip fan.
  3. I got lunch from the Uno's in Ellicott City, Maryland today and tried the cheese pizza. It was carry out so I asked the manager how I could be sure I had the right thing. He said that the manager supervises every gluten-free pizza being made and told me how they use designated utensils, etc. The gluten-free pizza is round whereas the flatbread pizza is more oval shaped. The flavor was definitely good. The crust was a bit flaky and didn't want to stay together too well, but that was ok. I was eating a pizza that I didn't have to make! I will definitely have it again.
  4. I don't know how helpful this will be but when we were last year we went to a restaurant where one of the waitresses was a celiac. (Of couse, I don't know if she is still there). She wsa very helpful, the food was good, and I didn't have any problems. Of course, I can't remember the name of the restaurant but it is on the main street of Breckenridge on the lower level of the building. I think it may be a man's name, like Bob's, or something. The restaurant has lots of old signs on the walls from the businesses that have gone out of business in the town over the years. Maybe someone familiar with Breck knows the name of the place.   5. I also like the Pamela's bread mix. The only thing I do different than the recipe is boil them longer than it calls for. Sometimes I add cinnamon and raisins. Sometimes dried cranberries and walnuts. Yum!
  6. That is great to know. I just saw them for the first time but chickened out on buying them. I guess I will have to make a trip back to buy them. They now carry them at Lilit Cafe in Bethesda, MD, for anyone in the Maryland/DC area.
  7. I like the french rolls. They are thick so I slice them into thirds. I just wish I lived in the west to get the bagels! I also really like their granola, fire roasted corn, carnitas, vitamins and Omega 3s, among other things listed here. They also have a gluten-free list on their website which you can look at before you go. Enjoy.
  8. I would definitely cook the noodles separately and add them at the end or pour the soup over top of them. I tried it once with a conventional recipe. When I got home the noodles were more than mush. They pretty much disintigrated. I was so disappointed!
  9. Trader Joe's has a great gluten-free granola located near the cereals. I don't know if it is made on shared equipment though.

  11. Thanks for the recipes; they sound yummy. So, I am assuming the only thing you did to use the regular oats was to chop them a bit? You didn't change any portions or anything, right? I will try to chop my oats a bit and try them in my recipe. I will let you know if it turns out. thanks.
  12. I don't know any restaurants, but I do know 2 places that make goodies: tenzoartisans.com I have only tried their gluten-free cinnamon bun and it was great! You can also check glutenfreedesserts.com to find out where her products are sold. Sweet Sin makes great cookies, bread, etc. I think everything I have tried has been good!
  13. Now that there are more gluten-free oats out there, I'd like to try them in some of my recipes. Some of my recipes call for quick oats but the only oats I've seen are regular, long cooking. Does anyone know how to replace quick oats with regular oats? I am sure you have to add more fluids and I'm wondering if anyone knows a specific ratio? Thanks.
