  2. I assumed that it wasnt, but like I had said, he wanted me to ask, so I figured I would. It may have been something he ate earlier and just associated it with the last meal he ate. Or maybe he does have a problem with rice. I'll have to look into that. Thanks for all your help!!

I assume that its just from trying something new, but I made a gluten free pasta dish last nite and my boyfriend complained that he woke up in the middle of the nite with horrible stomach pains and asked if I would post and see if anyone else who doesn't have celiac disease has a problem with eating gluten free foods? I personally think that its just from introducing new foods to your body, that you may not normally eat, but I thought for his sake, I would ask! Thanks!

  5. Hi! I've recently started a gluten free diet (day 6) and it seems that certain foods that are gluten free, still upset me and I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what I can and cannot eat. I had green beans the other day for dinner and wound up within 20 mins of eating with HORRIBLE pains and bloating and so I called the drs. office the next morning and spoke with a nurse and she said beans of all kinds are a big NO unless they are garbanzo beans. Is this true or is it just possible that I have a reaction to other foods besides gluten. Also, I tried eating dairy again, since I always thought that that was the problem, until I tried the gluten free diet and wanted to see how I felt. I can eat cheese, but I tried eggs this morning and I was a mess again. Does this happen alot to others? Where certain dairy products are ok, but others arent? Thanks for all your help!!
  6. Thank all of you soo much for your replies! It really makes me feel better knowing there are alot of people out there like me!! I will definately read up on alot of stuff. The first week has been a little difficult, but I'm sure it'll get better and just knowing that I feel better already makes me want to continue.
  7. Hi! I'm new to the site. I've been having problems for years and had a celiac blood test back in August. The drs. never said anything to me about my results and just kept telling me I had IBS. The pains and bloating of my stomach finally got to me, so I stopped in a health food store to try some cleansing products when I got talking to the owner, she recommended trying the gluten free diet and that IBS wasn't all that was going on, not with my stomach getting so big where I looked several months pregnant within minutes of eating sometimes. After talking with her, I called the dr. to have them send me my results. I'm not quite sure how to take it, it says that the results do not exclude a diagnosis of celiac disease. Then also states that the IgA serological markers for celiac disease not detected. HLA allelic variants associated with celiac detected. I've only been gluten free for 5 days, but I've already noticed a difference. No swelling, no pain, no faituge. I was just curious if there is something else I should do test wise to confirm or if I should just continue with the diet and figure it out myself? Thanks!!!
