Crayons574 replied to travelthomas's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Really interesting! Thanks for sharing. It shows that we should be eating REAL food, and not man-made foods from a package. -
I cannot tolerate eggs, either. They upset my stomach. I have no problems with chicken or any other meats though.

She makes a lot of her dessert recipes with almond flour. -

Is it okay to use bulk bins at places like Whole Foods for nuts and dried fruit? Do you guys do it or is this a no-no? And if not, where can I safely get raw, organic nuts? Do they have packaged ones online? I am pretty sensitive anyways, as I am sure many of you are, so I am thinking I need to be more careful... I know they separate the granolas from...

ARCHIVED Anyone Have Troubles With All Grains?
Crayons574 posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I was just wondering how many people on here have trouble with all grains and find that they do best on a grain-free diet? Is this common among Celiacs--like does your body think that anything that even remotely resembles gluten is hard to digest? Or is this temporary and gluten free grains can eventually be reintroduced? Thanks! -
I have never had problems with my hair. I went strictly gluten free in May/June of this summer. My hair started falling out in June/July and it is now October, and I have lost a significant amount of hair, and it is not letting up. Anyone ever experienced hair loss after going gluten free? Any ideas on what might be causing it? I had my ferritin...

ARCHIVED Do You Live In A Gluten Free Or Shared Kitchen?
Crayons574 posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I was just wondering if you lived in a gluten shared kitchen or an entirely gluten free kitchen, and if you've noticed a difference? I live in a gluten free kitchen, and have noticed I always get glutened somehow in a shared kitchen. Maybe I'm just super sensitive . Wanted to hear your experiences! -
ARCHIVED Is It Really Best To Just Avoid Restaurants?
Crayons574 replied to jasonD2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree with everyone else--it all depends on how sensitive you are. For instance, some people can use products that are "manufactured in the same facility as gluten." However, I cannot, but I am extremely sensitive. I think if you are on vacation or something for a short period of time, where you really don't have any other option than eating out, then you... -

would you be willing to switch to a rice milk, soy milk (if you are not intolerant to soy), or almond milk? there are some good gluten free ones out there. i use Pacific rice milk with no problems. it's gluten free and casein/dairy free. good luck -
you may try going casein (dairy) and soy free for a couple of weeks to see if the bloating goes down. those seem to be common allergies on this site. when i eat soy, i bloat like crazy, but i also get pain with it. if you are not experiencing indigestion, it could be a variety of things like candida overgrowth, or perhaps you need to take more probiotics...
