ARCHIVED Cvs Gold Emblem Safely gluten-free ?
kerrera replied to Judyin Philly's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Judy~ I've called them on this before and they were VERY uncooperative. I've continued to use the spices because like you said there were no ingredients listed and it should therefore be simply what the particular spice is and that's it. Please let me know if you find out anything. Thanks, Kristy -

Now I'm really confused..... Two questions: 1) Do we even have to worry about sushi rice then, or is it all safe? 2)I never realized that Sake could have Barley in it.....I thought that the gluten-free"spirits" list on celiac.com had Sake as a safe drink.....HELP! I get sick almost everytime I go for sushi but I always have Sake. Could this...

I've been trying the sushi route and have gotten sick a couple of times. I have the Triumph cards though and am getting better at it Since the cards say to check "sushi rice ingredients", the sushi chef wouldn't give me any rice! I had to beg the waitress and explain that as long as there wasn't mirin in the rice, it was ok. The rice only had sushi vinegar...

Thank you guys for getting back to me so quickly I've had an endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound, bloodwork, and a barium swallow and have been told that their is no ulcer. I can't believe that this pain is from lactose, but maybe it's one of the casues. I should probably be tested for other food allergies since I've been on allergy shots my whole life for...

HI everyone! A quick question for ya. My diet is totally gluten-free and my antibody numbers have gone down drastically, yea! So why am I still in excruciating stomach pain? I have severe reflux and just consulted with a surgeon about the lap nissen procedure. But I've never heard of stomach cramps being a side-effect of reflux. Not only is my stomach burning...

Hi Holly! I called Dunkin Donuts and hey said that they were working on testing their products for gluten but couldn't give me any answers....yet. I wouldn't trust that yummy latte. I just had a LONG conversation with a Claim Jumper rep and she was SOOO HELPFUL! They just put a basic gluten-free menu on their website this morning but this is just a basic one. We talked about what ingredients are safe and not safe and I told her to visit the celiac.com website to read about safe ingredients. She was so excited and willing o help! I...

HI Ruth! Actually, the hot dogs are safe. They are Kahn's hot dogs, which are gluten-free, and I haven't had a problem with them. I've also had the popcorn and been ok. They use Gulden's mustard and Hunt's ketchup so I just brought in some packets of Heinz and brought my own gluten-free hot dog bun. They also serve wine so you can have a drink if ya like...

kerrera posted a topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Hi everyone! I'm travelling to Mammoth Lake, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, Santa Barbara and all along the coast of mid-California in a couple of weeks. I found a wonderful listing of restaurants in a number of cities on my journey. But I just can't seem to find any for these above regions. Any suggestions? I really appreciate it! Take care, Kristy -
