  1. Good to know! Thank you! I expected it might improve but I was shocked at how much! It’s a good thing though. 😊
  2. Hi! Before celiac diagnosis I had been battling very low Vitamin D levels as well as intermittent anemia. I was on Vitamin D supplements but despite taking them my numbers never improved. My last Vitamin D level taken in June 2018 and before diagnosis was 12 (don't remember units). I just had my level rechecked a couple weeks ago. I had stoped taking...
  3. Hi! I had positive lab work, specifically my DGP IgG was elevated at 51. My genetic testing was also positive for celiac. But my initial biopsies were negative. My doctor told me I didn't have celiac. I too went off gluten after my biopsies and found improvement in my symptoms. After 8 months my GP decided to repeat labs and my DGP IgG was even higher...
  4. I'm just curious...my cousin was just diagnosed with celiac and she has been highly symptomatic for a couple of years. Her lab values were not very high though. It just made me wonder if there is any correlation to how high the serology results are for celiac with how severe disease. I only had one lab value that was abnormal so I'm kinda weird. It just...
  5. Thank you for your response! That makes me feel better. I was worried that the increase in value indicated that I was not well controlled. My appointment is in two weeks with the doctor so I can talk to him then about checking other labs as well. Great suggestion!
  6. Hi! So I’ve been gluten free since January of this year. In October last year my initial celiac serology showed a DGP IgG level of 51. I was still on gluten at that time. My serology was just rechecked and I was shocked to see my DGP IgG is now 69. Anyone else experience this? I’m feeling much better since going off gluten. Thanks!
  7. Thank you! That makes me feel better. And that totally makes sense too. It’s weird I feel like I can feel my intestines being all inflamed and angry!! With all the COVID drama I just started worrying maybe I couldn’t chalk my symptoms up to gluten. 😜
  8. Hi! its been a while since I’ve been on here but I was diagnosed celiac in January of this year. I’ve been gluten free ever since. It took about 6 weeks before all my symptoms went away and I’ve been feeling awesome ever since! My follow up appointment got cancelled because of COVID but I’ve just stayed off gluten and assumed I’m fine. 😜 ...
  9. We are going through a similar issue with our daughter in that she did great off of dairy and then suddenly went right back to where she had been with the stomach aches and behavior problems despite still being off dairy. We also strongly suspect gluten problems despite negative testing. I have heard it is possible for them to have multiple food allergies...
  10. I also live in CA and have had to deal with the public school system and their lack of interest in dealing with children with food allergies. Unfortunately, there is not a lot you can do legally unless you want to get really aggressive and hire a lawyer to try and pursue the "discrimination" aspect of how they are handling your situation. Certainly it is...
  11. Thanks for the replies! So we went back to the pediatrician today and they ordered a celiac panel, sed rate, CBC, CMP, urine culture and KUB (abdominal radiographs). Obviously we don't have any results yet, but her x-ray was pretty odd because her stomach was HUGE and full of gas. The tech couldnt believe she wasn't in more pain. Hopefully we get some...
  12. Thank you so much for posting your story. I just found this website yesterday in my search to help my daughter and it has already been so helpful! My daughter also had golf ball sized tonsils which we finally had removed 3 months ago because of chronic strep. Now I'm wondering if it was related to a gluten problem. I've always wondered what is wrong...
  13. I am looking for some advice for my 9-year-old daughter. We've already been through quite a bit with her but are still grasping at straws to find answers for her symptoms. I will try to make her story short! ha, ha My dd was a VERY colicky baby and at 6 months of age had a violent GI reaction to rice cereal. ER said it was a virus but I knew it wasn...
