  1. Try Selland's Kitchen - they have two locations now. One near Sac State, and 2nd location just opened in El Dorado Hiils. They have a small gluten free menu but what they have is fantastic! I've eaten there several times never been glutened. Other suggestions: The Counter - Roseville Paul Martin's - Roseville - excellent food. They mark their regular...
  2. a1956chill - how long did it take your leaky guy to heal? I've been gluten free for about 5 1/2 months, and keep hoping for my leaky gut to healed :-)

  4. I love many of the gluten-free snacks from Glutino - my favorite is the Yogurt Covered Pretzels! Yum. Also love their Table Crackers (like a saltine cracker). I tried Amy's Mac & Cheese recently and I had a horrible reaction - never again! Something in the artificial cheese - I usually make everything from scratch - but the one time I got lazy and ate...
  5. I had something that sounds really similar... Wasn't sleeping well, and waking up with really horrible dreams and feeling upset. Turns out I have a mild case of sleep apnea. My osteopathy doctor suggested I try using the SleepRight nasal breathe aids and it works very well. If you search this site you'll see that many people who have Celiac also have sleep...
  6. Elizabeth Hasselbeck has another gluten free cookbook that just came out. Deliciously gluten-free: Food So Flavorful They'll Never Believe It's Gluten-Free I haven't tried it yet but has gotten some good reviews on Amazon: http://www.(Company Name Removed - They Spammed This Forum and are Banned)/Deliciously-gluten-free-Flavorful-Gluten-Free-ebook...
  7. This is unbelievable! But explains my horrible reaction when I was taking Synthroid several years ago. Since I was feeling worse my doctor increased my dose - which lead to feeling like I was having an emotion break down. (They were over medicating me!) I cold turkey stop taking Synthroid and started taking the over the counter vitamin Selenium. Works perfect...
  8. From my research I did on this a few months ago - gluten free oats still share the same protein that regular oats have and your stomach doesn't know the difference. After a month of going gluten free I had an extremely bad reaction to Bob's gluten free oats. I stay away from them all together now. After your stomach's vill heals you may have more tolerance...
  9. Yeah I can relate! Over the holidays I met a friend for dinner at PF Changs and totally got glutened.. I ate from the gluten free menu and had the lettuce wrap appetizer, and my main dinner (Mango Chicken) arrived late (due to me sending it back because it was too spicy) I never got to enjoy it, except for a few bites. The next morning I didn't have stomach...
  10. dilettantesteph can you share how you make yogurt in a crockpot? Thanks!
  11. O.M.G. thank you Skylark for mentioning the crockpot365 website. I also get sick of cooking all the time - even though I'm the leftover queen. My favorite thing to cook is Tuscany Chicken: I buy the cut up organic chicken from Trader Joe's. Put all the cut up chicken in a large resealable plastic bag - add enough olive oil to coat the chicken, Rosemary...
  12. The Yahoo Low Oxalates link is incorrect in my last posting. Should be: Open Original Shared Link Or you can google the Yahoo Group - Trying Low Oxalates. You will need to join the group before you can view the resources or participate in the forums. I hope this information helps others with LS.
  13. I'm a little late to this discussions about Starbuck's but.... their hot chocolate is gluten free. And you can get regular chocolate, and white hot chocolate (even though it's not on the menu). I've had both without any problems.
  14. All, I have Lichen Sclerosis (LS) and after alot of research I discovered that going on a low oxalates diet gave me "immediate" relief. It's difficult to be on a gluten free and low oxalates diet - but IT WORKS! In just two weeks on the low oxalates diet my horrible LS itching has completed stopped, and in the first 48 hours the intense hypersensitivity...

  16. I got "Gluttened" at Costco recently. They were giving out samples of Apple/Raspberry Juice that was suppose to only contain those ingredients. But hours later after drinking the juice I had a horrible stomach pain and the usual bathroom problems that followed. When I looked at the ingredients on the label they added "natural flavoring" which now I know...
  17. After being gluten free for about 2 weeks I made an Apple Crisp from a gluten-free cookbook using Bob's Gluten Free Oats. I got gluttoned badly. I was confused about the gluten free Oats also, but read on a gluten-free Blog that Oats (no matter if they are gluten free or not) share the same protein causing the reaction. I plan on skipping Oats! I'm a...
  18. There's a really great article about this topic from Dr. Andrew Weil called the The Depression-Inflammation Connection. Gluten causes inflammation. It was posted on the Huffington Post on 11/4/11. You can search the site to find it. Not sure if I can post the link or not? Is that breaking the rules?
  19. The Body Shop has an extensive list of gluten free products. They will emailed you the list but it's about 72 pages long - if you compare the gluten-free list to their products online not everything is on the website. But you can go into their store - the staff can bring up the gluten free list from their computer. They will provide you a sample of most...
