  1. Anyone that is pretty sensitive have problems with Wrigley chewing gum? I'm trying to decode their response and determine if it is the typical CYA or if other gluten containing grains might be lurking. Thanks! Thank you for writing to inquire about ingredients used in Wrigley products. All U.S. Wrigley products are labeled within strict...
  2. I would love to comment on this article, but I don't have a facebook account. Open Original Shared Link The article starts off like this... " It's the "in" thing -- virtually every possible product has a gluten-free option. There's gluten-free girl scout cookies, beer, gluten-free restaurant finders and even gluten-free dating sites. " If...
  3. More of a rant here, sorry. This is a great place to eat gluten free for a once in a while treat, but some staff isn't as well educated as they advertise they are. Today they are offering a discounted rate and a free dessert. Three of the desserts were obvious gluten items, but the 4th item, Flan, I wasn't familiar with. So because of my unfamiliarity...
  4. Been meaning to post this for a long time...after going gluten free milk really bothered me; symptoms pointed to lactose intolerance which is common in celiacs. Raw milk, which isn't available in all states, eliminated the symptoms milk was causing. Reading more on the internet shows this actually helps others with lactose intolerance because real cows...
  5. They do have a full list of gluten free offerings on their website. www.wendys.com/food/pdf/us/gluten_free_list.pdf
  6. I agree with GFinDC completely about cooking yourself. When you cook at home you always know you are safe from gluten, but when you eat out you are always risking someone doesn't understand cross-contamination. Other advice I can give is don't worry about replacement foods...they normally just disappoint. (gluten free bread, brownies, cookies, etc...
  7. Sounds just like me! My mother had all the thyroid issues, but I had all the other symptoms...the heart stuff showed up around age 30. I went on a strict gluten free diet (you can't ever cheat!) and all my symptoms went away! Have you been tested for Hashimoto's disease? It's an autoimmune disease and celiac disease is also...from what I've read online...
  8. Your post reminds me of something else I noticed after going gluten free. My body craved like no other the most nutritious fruits and veggies raw. Examples were raw kale, raw cabbage, and raw cauliflower.
  9. I am posting this to share my experience with gluten with the hopes it helps someone else out there some day. For 25 years I bit my fingernails very severely...to the point they would almost always be bleeding, sometimes 1/8" long, picking layers of nails off with teeth, and I would tear apart my nail beds from constantly biting them. I tried everything...
  10. After visiting Rite Aid a few times and just dying to know what ice creams are gluten free with the ingredients that might be gluten (natural flavors for example) I decided to call the manufacturer of the ice cream to see. Obviously cross contamination makes it not possible to eat from their ice cream bar, but buying a 1/2 gallon can't be bad now can it...
