    My little guy needs to take Singulair on occasion. We've found that the Singulair works best when he's exposed to cats....well...actually a combination of Singulair at night and Loratadine during the day with a dose of Benadryl if needed. He is ridiculously allergic to cats and it can take him a week to get over an exposure. I ask about the chewable tablets...

    I thought I had read something about a connection of some sort. I tried telling my sister in law about it as her youngest son has had all sorts of breathing issues and been on steroids multiple times in his short 3 years. My brother in law is a bit, um...pigheaded about some things.

    Ok...my little guy did end up getting glutened on Thanksgiving. He ate a piece of fruit off his cousin's plate that was resting on a dinner roll. Add in the little other things that could also be a cross contamination issue and we have the resulting constipation and tummy issues.     I did talk to a manager at Dairy Queen. She was quite concerned that we ended up with a non-gluten free cake when we were trying to get a gluten free cake. Between the two of us though, we did figure out that the cake that we had gotten was indeed gluten free. Apparently they have a general label that they put on ALL of their cakes (gluten free or not) telling...

    Phew! I messaged my local DQ this morning. Apparently they use all the same generic labels but I guess they are supposed to say "if it contains the cookie crunch layer" which this cake did not. The girl that got back to me was really very concerned that we had gotten a cake that was labeled wrong but after really looking at the cake again and her explanation...

    Ok oh wise probiotic pusher and second leader.....is there somewhere on the interwebz that teaches me about probiotics? I know next to nothing about them and while I'm certain they would help my entire family....I have no idea where to find decent ones or what makes them decent or really anything!     Celiacs do often have dairy issues....though from what I've read and seen with my own little guy they are mostly digestive. Not to say it can't rear it's ugly head any other way...just the digestive issues are more common. It's so hard when they're that little to try to figure out what's going on with their bodies.     Both my boys get cold sore type things around their mouths. Especially this time of year. My oldest gets it the worst, though. Thankfully it is finally not appearing so much for him any more as he's almost 16 and I know that would be embarrassing. But they get them from chewing/sucking on their clothes.     My eldest works at McD's and even then.....I'm not sure I would allow my youngest to eat something that McD's considered gluten free. She will take him on occasion and he'll get some apples and some ice cream as a treat from his big sister and so he can get some of the Happy Meal toys. We haven't really gone out to eat much though, still not at a trusting...
