I'm sure someone with more experience will come along and explain this better than me, but from what I've read an intolerance to gluten can cause Leaky Gut Syndrome, which is pretty much what it sounds like. Anyone taking Prevacid/Prilosec might want to read Open Original Shared Link. Those drugs are far from harmless in the long run, and you might have equally good results with pepsin/HCL supplements, which are natural. At the very least, the book is an eye-opening read. -

Oooh, I'll watch for that one. Our Trader Joe's usually only has one gluten-free bread (it seems to rotate) and one tortilla that's okay. I do love their prices. I can spend $75 at Whole Foods and only get two bags of groceries, where I can get the same amount of food for $30 at TJ. Of course, they don't have the variety that WF has, but for meats and... -

Bumble Bars are gluten- and dairy-free: Open Original Shared Link All except one flavor (lemon) has nuts, so I've only tried that kind. It's not bad. Heavy on the sesame seeds and quite sweet. -
Thanks for the responses everyone. I scoured all the local organic food stores this weekend for things I can eat beyond fruit, veggies, and plain meat. It would be great if the gluten/dairy-free diet alone would solve things. I guess I'll just have to see how I feel after a few months.
