Merry Christmas!

What a great Christmas! My Mother in law was so sweet and bought some really great Christmas gadgets. She got us a black and decker jar lid opener. What a help! There are days when I can't even open a bottle of water to drink so this is a real treasure. She also got us a hot water heater that heats two or three cups of water at a time. I think she saw me struggling to lift my tea kettle and took mercy on me. She also got us a bacon barn. It's a great little setup to microwave bacon with no splattering, no mess at all, and the bacon is not greasy. We don't eat much bacon but made an exception this morning and really liked it. Then hubby and son got me a new juicer. I'm going to be spending a LOT of time in the kitchen

My ra is better but oh my gosh I'm very gassy today. Not sure if it's the ra medicine (pa said this was a side effect) or if I got glutened. I dont' think I have, I've been eating straight meats, veggies and fruits. I'm leaning towards the medicines. I have an ra appt. this week and will ask dr. about it.

We went to see Night at the Museum this week. Guys really liked it, I thought it was ok, most of the best scenes are shown as previews on the tv so it wasn't much more than that to see the whole thing. I do love Dick Van Dyke though. What a treasure! I could watch him and Angela Lansbury all day long. Today's actors don't have that same spark. I think it's because we hear so dang much about their personal lives that there's no mystique about them on screen. I prefer the days of having stars be stars and seeing them perform on screen, not in bars

and what is this obsession with Paris Hilton? I do not get it. She must have a great pr agent.

We saw that movie while staying in Independence Kansas. We stayed at the Appletree Inn. GREAT swimming pool and hot tub. It has a nice waterfall that flows into the pool and the water is WARM! The only hotel pool I've liked better was at the ParkVista Hotel in Gatlinburg Tennessee. I loved that hotel. Every room has a view and what a view it is! We could look out our window and see the bears coming around looking for food. As far as towns go, I love Crested Butte (a drinking town with a skiing problem) in Colorado and Hill City South Dakota. People are so nice in both towns, very relaxed, laid back. While staying in Hill City, we drove down to Evan's Plunge, a natural hot spring. It's awesome. I am definitely a water baby. I could swim every day for hours.

Well, time to get some food out to munch on. I bought some fresh vegetables, cheeses, and some meats. We decided to go easy and munchy today instead of making a big meal. I did make a saurkraut salad to season overnight for today. It sure is good to be home.

Merry Christmas everyone.

How nice to have such a thoughtful mother-in-law! She really thought about what you could use when buying those gifts. I am glad you had a great Christmas.

Yes, it was very thoughtful. With all your children and grandchildren, did you have a full house for Christmas? I hope it was wonderful!
