ARCHIVED Have To Eat A Coco's Tomorrow For Lunch :(
Cynbd replied to RobynJ's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I always bring my own food. I bring a salad, and I have never been questioned. Then you can eat and drink with the group, be safe, and not sit there just watching everyone eat. It's never worth it to me to take the risk of getting sick. -
ARCHIVED From Costco: Quick N Easy Angus Burgers
Cynbd posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I do not see any bad ingredients in these, but has anyone else tried them? I buy them all the time for my guys, but haven't tried them myself. -
I have been gluten free for more than three years now. Early on I found I had reactions to Amy's and decided to stay away from them. I have a tiny variety of foods that I eat every day, a gluten free kitchen, and as many of you, over a long process of elimination (including never eating at restaurants, or anything that anyone else made), I have not been...

ARCHIVED Anyone React To Gluten Free Oats?
Cynbd replied to Crayons574's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I definitely react to oats. I have been gluten-free for 2 1/2 years, and I very recently bought some certified gluten-free Oats for the first time since going gluten-free, and I reacted immediately to them. Those oats moved through my system like a freight train Yikes! But I recovered quickly. I recall having the same reaction at times when I used... -
ARCHIVED Hall's Cough Drops
Cynbd replied to bklynceliac's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi there, Thought I would update the Hall's Cough Drop discussion. On October 8, 2008 I received this response to my inquiry from Halls: >>>All of the Halls products are gluten-free. If any of our products contain gluten, the source of it will be on the ingredients as wheat, rye, barley, etc. If the allergen is not in the product but manufactured... -

ARCHIVED Few Product Questions
Cynbd replied to Octoberme's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just another thought. If you are using Jam or other products that may have been used prior to your going gluten free, you may have some cross contamination issues in your jars/containers. Also, there are some foods I eat that are stated "gluten free" like the ginger snaps from Trader Joe's or Lays potato chips, and I have to say, sometimes they bother... -
ARCHIVED The Gluten-free Kitchen
Cynbd replied to Hummingbird4's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I am speechless... I realize it is difficult for others to really grasp the sacrifice we make for our health and all we MUST give up -- which is everything we used to enjoy. My house is a gluten free house, and my family is fine with it. They watched me suffer for years before I gave up gluten and they understand the impact gluten has had on my life. ... -

Does anyone have good recipe for gluten free/dairy free fish tacos? I just got the taco thing down, but now I would like to try fish tacos, but I don't know what the sauces are made of. Also, what would be the best way to cook the fish if I were to fry it? I have never made them before, and I miss them :-)

I make my own taco seasoning since every packet I have ever seen has whey in it and I don't do the dairy thing. 1TB minced dried onion 2 tsp Chili Powder 1 tsp Garlic Powder 1 tsp Cornstarch 1 tsp cumin 1/2 to 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper I also add about 1/2 tsp salt, which the recipe didn't call for, but I thought it really needed it. This recipe...

Cynbd replied to celiacyak's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Are you drinking coffee? I don't eat much in the morning either. Maybe a banana, apple Lara bar, or soy yogurt. -
ARCHIVED Sweet Baby Rays &
Cynbd replied to msmini14's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I use Sweet Baby Rays all the time and haven't had any problems. Is Ken's Thousand Island Dressing gluten free? That was my favorite. I haven't had it since going gluten-free. -
ARCHIVED Femcon Fe Birth Control - Doc Samples
Cynbd posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi there My doctor just gave me some Femcon BC pill samples and I am trying to find out if anyone knows of they are gluten-free? I am desperately trying to stop hemorrhaging due to a fibroid that is giving me a ton of trouble and hoping this one will help... I am stuck in the house... geez get rid of one problem with diet, then this! I have been on... -

ARCHIVED Shrimp Cocktail Sauce & Worschester Sauce
Cynbd replied to Cynbd's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I haven't seen McCormick at my local Albertsons, but they sell Del Monte... I emailed them and they said theirs is gluten free. So I guess for convenience sake I can always pick that one up. Here' there response FYI: Thank you for your interest in Del Monte Seafood Cocktail Sauce. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to your e-mail. Del Monte... -
I think it's possible. This past weekend I was out of town for my son's water polo tournament, and I brought all my own food. It was food that I eat all the time. I did not eat out once. I was sick all day yesterday, and today is questionable. The only thing I can think of is a glass of water I drank at Chili's on Sat. while I was sitting with a couple...

ARCHIVED Shrimp Cocktail Sauce & Worschester Sauce
Cynbd replied to Cynbd's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thank you everyone for all your responses. During the holidays I bought a jar of Marina Cocktail sauce, but I couldn't tell if it was safe so I didn't eat it. It was made at a Seattle company, but there wasn't a phone number and I couldn't find the company so I couldn't ask. I am graduating in a couple of weeks (woo hoo) and since I can't eat out... -
ARCHIVED Shrimp Cocktail Sauce & Worschester Sauce
Cynbd posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Does anyone recommend a good shrimp cocktail sauce? I used to use Maria's, but I can't find any contact information so I can't ask, they only have a mailing address on their jar and google isn't helping. I am ok with making my own, but doesn't Worcestershire sauce have malt or something in it that is not gluten free? -

My B12 was on the low side (in the low 200s) and I waited a year to see how my body would handle the changes after going gluten free. After a year, my B12 was even lower (below 200). My doctor told me to start taking GNCs sublingual B12. She said she had patients on injections with little improvement and after going on GNCs sublingual 1000 mcg their numbers... -
You can even go to Mayo Clinic's website and they will tell you not to go gluten free before biopsy. Open Original Shared Link My GI doctor told me the same thing -- that I didn't have to go gluten free for accuracy. Five months later when I finally had my endoscopy (just before he knocked me out) he asked me what I thought he would find.... I told...

ARCHIVED Oh No....
Cynbd replied to FootballFanatic's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just started Yaz a couple of weeks ago for severe cramping and heavy cycle (I'm 46 and not much chance of getting pg). I called Bayer and they told me they don't put gluten in their product, but they can't vouch for the ingredients they use that come from "other" sources. I have been taking it and I haven't had any problems so far... I suspect that... -
I always try to find a hotel with suites so I have a kitchen, microwave, dishwasher, fridge. However, I know that some (maybe all) Marriots can provide a mini fridge and microwave in your room upon request. You would want to put in your request on the early side because they generally don't have a lot to go around. At least with a microwave you could bring...
