  1. My 2 1/2 year old son was diagnosed with celiac weeks after his second birthday. His gene test showed that he had a double gene, and my husband and I each have one gene but do not have celiac. I am due any day now with baby number 2, and I know the chances are high that he/she will at least have the gene, if not celiac. Does anybody know if it's possible to have a newborn tested for the gene so we know what we are dealing with? If he/she has the gene do I need to avoid gluten while breastfeeding? Thanks for any help!! Keri
  2. My 2 year old son loves Coco Puffs. From what I can see, the ones that are 75% reduced sugar are gluten free. The full sugar ones still have wheat. I guess it's a better thing that the less sugar ones are gluten free. Has anyone else noticed the same thing? I haven't actually called on them. Keri
  3. I am very interested in hearing answers to this as well. My 2 year old son was recently diagnosed, and my husband and I have both tested positive for having the gene. I am currently 5 1/2 months pregnant and would love it if they could test the new baby early to see if it will even carry the gene. Good luck to you!
  4. Hi- Does anyone know if corn flakes cereal is gluten free? One of the ingrediaents is malt flavoring, but at the bottom of the ingredient list it clearly states that corn is used and that it contains traces of soybeans, but says nothing about wheat. I want to crush them us to use in making meatballs. Thanks for your help. Keri
  5. Hi- My 2 year old son was also recently diagnosed, but I am having the opposite problem with him in regards to eating. He still does not really want to eat anything. It has been two weeks today since the biopsy and going gluten free, and so far we have seen very little change in him. He still has no appetite, no energy, and is just not himself. We'll see little glimpses of our old Matty, not not too often. Did anybody else have this situation? It's very frustrating because he is still so skinny and we want him to start eating, but I think he still has a negative association with food. If anyone with a similar situation can share how long it took for their little one to start feeling better it would be great. Thanks! Keri
  6. Does anyone know for sure if the cheese packet from Kraft macaroni and cheese is gluten free? We tried the Annie's rice pasta but my son really didn't like it, so we used brown rice pasta shells with the Kraft cheese packet and he really liked it. It looks like it's okay to me, but we're new to this and I wanted to double check. Kraft's website was not very helpful. Thanks!
  7. Does anyone know is the plain M & M's are gluten free?
  8. Let me know what else you find out there for toddlers. My 2 year old son was diagnosed last week and we are struggling with food right now. He has always been a picky eater, but now I think he had such bad assosiations with food that we can't get him to eat much of anything. Good luck to you!
  9. Chex Mix

Hi- I've read that Chex Mix can be made using gluten free cereal. Can anyone tell me where they might have been able to find "chex like" cereal. My newly diagnosed 2 year old son loved chex mix as a snack, so I'm trying to find him something like it. Thanks for your help! Keri
