  1. My 2 1/2 year old son was diagnosed with celiac weeks after his second birthday. His gene test showed that he had a double gene, and my husband and I each have one gene but do not have celiac. I am due any day now with baby number 2, and I know the chances are high that he/she will at least have the gene, if not celiac. Does anybody know if it's possible to have a newborn tested for the gene so we know what we are dealing with? If he/she has the gene do I need to avoid gluten while breastfeeding? Thanks for any help!!

  2. Hi-

My 2 year old son was also recently diagnosed, but I am having the opposite problem with him in regards to eating. He still does not really want to eat anything. It has been two weeks today since the biopsy and going gluten free, and so far we have seen very little change in him. He still has no appetite, no energy, and is just not himself. We'll see little glimpses of our old Matty, not not too often. Did anybody else have this situation? It's very frustrating because he is still so skinny and we want him to start eating, but I think he still has a negative association with food. If anyone with a similar situation can share how long it took for their little one to start feeling better it would be great. Thanks!

  3. An online friend told me about Fritos corn chips, and I just bought a bag this morning. Ingredients: Whole corn, corn oil, and salt. No preservatives.

We're brand new to the Gluten-free Casein-free diet, and today is actually our DS's first day being completely Gluten-free Casein-free. I'm anxious to find a variety of foods that are safe for him to eat... WITHOUT breaking the bank!

Let me know what else you find out there for toddlers. My 2 year old son was diagnosed last week and we are struggling with food right now. He has always been a picky eater, but now I think he had such bad assosiations with food that we can't get him to eat much of anything. Good luck to you!
