  1. I guess I haven't thought it through, because honestly I am assuming I will react in some way and remember the pain I went through, so I won't want to do it again! The pizza I ate tonight is the same pizza I would make with my gluten free crust, just on regular crust, so I shouldn't react to any of the other ingredients. If I have no symptoms I will contact...
  2. I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy about 7 years ago ( I had already been diagnosed with other food allergies over the years). After going wheat free I did feel better but not great. After a few years I went to a new allergist, he tested me for celiac disease, however, because I was wheat free for so long the test was negative and he said I could just...
  3. shellfish allergy, but I also have a gluten and dairy intolerance, peanut allergy, and I should also be avoiding other nuts, citrus, mint, strawberries, chocolate, pork, and all salt-water fish. Hi, I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy, peanut allergy, hazelnut allergy, grape allergy, egg allergy, shellfish allergy, a dairy intolerance and a gluten intolerance...
  4. I have been gluten free for years, however, my children still eat gluten at school and when we go out to eat. I was never diagnosed with celiac disease, I do have a wheat allergy and a gluten sensitivity. My daughter has had a rash on again and off again on her butt for years, they start out like a pimple and then pops and is purple colored and really scaly...
  5. I agree about going to a doctor. Are you on any medications? Some medicines have side effects and they can start at any time. I have questioned my gluten issues-but every time I tried to reintroduce it, it ended badly! For a long time I thought every pain and symptom was because of what I ate.. I was put on an anxiety medication at the time, becuase...
  6. I don't know if you can buy it online...You could try amazon! If you go to pillsbury online you can check locations near you--and alot of places (like piggly wiggly) will order it in for you...
  7. They only have choc chip, however, they also carry a pie crust and I did buy that and maybe will do some experimenting with it or just make a peach pie!
  8. My local piggly wiggly is now carrying pillsbury gluten free cookie dough in the refrigerator section. Can I say that they taste amazing!!! I know that they are not very healthy, however, with 5 kids it was so convenient to just pop open a tub and make tasty hot cookies without all the work!!! My kids loved them and even my husband wanted more... Just...
  9. Lemongrass is from the botanical family - Gramineae (grasses) and I have read that wheat is from the grass family as well. I am gluten intolerant, but I am also allergic to wheat. I have an allergy to grass as well. I know that gluten is not added to the oil. I don't understand if consuming or putting on lemongrass would bother me. What I am saying is...
  10. I am starting to sell young living (essental oils) and I really want start using them in place of medications and lotions and such. Just wondering if lemongrass and others would effect me. Lemongrass comes from grass and wheat is associated with grass. Am I wrong? I know that the oils do go through the skin and they effect the cells within 20 minutes...
  11. So I have been gluten free for over two years and it has been wonderful. However, I have added many prepackaged gluten free foods into my diet, and I am having more and more symptoms coming back. I was up all last night and I still can't seem to stand up straight. My stomach hurts so bad and I just want to cry. I think I need to go back to the basics...
  12. Most of my symptoms are with my menstural cycle. I have severe PMS and heavy menstrual cycles every 25 days. I am tired alot (which all dr's say it's because I have five children). I am cold all the time, my body temp is never over 97.5, which they say it's winter! I think they figured after all the years I am just a hypochondriac!! I have started taking...
  13. I guess I should be happy, a little over two years ago, before I went gluten free, my thyroid antibodies were high. They never did anything about it at the time, however, I was having some symptoms I thought could be related to hypothyroid. They checked the antibodies again, and the are within normal range. I am still having problems that I would like...
  14. I have the same cook book! We love it..She uses a great flour blend as well...
  15. I have had many hypothyroid symptoms for a few years, however, my TSH is always in normal range. The most recent TSH test was 1.95, which I understand is great. I do have high thyroid antibodies 16.2 and normal is >9. My mom and sister are both hypothyroid. I have many hypothyroid symptoms, weight gain low body temp (95.6 to about 97.2) extremely...
  16. Your tests will probably come back negative if you have been off gluten for 3 months. From everything I have read, you should be eating alot of gluten for at least 5 weeks before testing. When I was tested I had already been wheat free, so I am assuming that is why my test was negative. It can be very frustrating to not have an official diagnosis, but...
  17. I have a wheat allergy, and after a year with no wheat I tested negative for a wheat allergy. They told me I could eat wheat again! So I did, I missed it alot. My symptoms became soo extreme. I stopped eating wheat again and asked about celiac, at the time I didn't understand much about it. I tested negative, but I am sure that is because I had already...
  18. When I was a little girl I always had stomach aches. My mom always said just lay down and they will go away. I remember in high school I would call my mom from school dances and have her come pick me up at like 8:00 and I would be laying on the curb by the time she got there. Stomach issues were always my problem. As an adult, things started getting...
  19. I am allergic to grapes. I cannot drink red wine, raisins, or grape juice (or grapes). But I can have a glass of champagne occasionally and not get sick. I don't know why only the red bother me though. I remember before I found out about it and I had a glass of wine and I thought I was coming down with the flu. I was so sick, was vomiting horrilbly and...
  20. Xantham gum will stick things together for you, so if you are baking cookies or cake I would add some. I wouldn't bother if you want it to be crumbly like an apple crisp topping. I never add the full amount they tell you to either. For any recipes that I used before gluten free I make a blend of brown rice flour, tapioca flour, and potato starch. Bobs...
  21. That scares me! I don't know what kind of epilepsy he has, but I asked him to try gluten free for a month to see if they continued. I offered to make all his meals even. He made it about two days and said it was just to hard and quit...Frustrating!!!
  22. Yes, it is my 12 year old. Thanks for the info. If he tests positive maybe my other family members will finally get tested. My mom is hypothyroid and has fibromyalgia. My sister is hypothyroid and unexplained infertility. My brother has epilepsy (has seizures even with all the medication) Not to mention all the little complaints I hear from all of them...
  23. I took my son to the doctor today and he said he would run a full celiac panel on him. First I have to get more gluten into his diet. I have been gluten free for two years, so most everything in the house is gluten free. He does eat gluten at school and at other peoples houses. The dr told me to feed him alot more gluten for the next five weeks so the...
  24. I have used the authentic foods super fine brown rice flour and it was awesome. I ordered it from amazon, however, I can't afford to do that again. I use bobs red mill now and I mix it with tapioca flour and potato starch for my all purpose flour and it works great...
