  1. I am currently 20 weeks pregnant and my nausea didnt kick in until i was about a week and a half/two weeks late for my period. And even then, the nausea was helped when i had a little something to eat. My first main symptom was extremely tired, like fall asleep with the tv on, light on, husband talking to me all at the same time tired. I agree with everyone...
  2. I dont know if they have changed anything but it was gluten free last November when I went for my honeymoon. We called special to ask since we attended the holiday party with the free hot chocolate and cookies.
  3. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  4. Increasing the fat in your diet through nuts or avocado, the good kind should help with the problem associated with this.
  5. This is so funny, i was just going to ask about this place. They are opening one in Burbank in a few weeks and had the menu on the door. I didnt think anything of it until in the tiny print i saw "gluten free crust available at some locations" I hope the Burbank one is one of them.
  6. I live on the border of Burbank and Glendale. Some tips that I know of are, shop at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. The Whole Foods in Pasadena on Arroyo has a huge gluten free section with pretty much every kind of food imaginable. Also, as far as restaurants go, most places are very nice and accomodating to my requests, although i would stay away from...
  7. I just got married two weeks ago and had a lot of people with different food issues. Most of them told me when they RSVP-ed about the issues and I brought them up during the final sit-down with my venue and catering. I had to put the item on their place card and they had to make sure to tell the server about their issue. It seemed to work out well. Contacting...
  8. If you dont want to go to the rice pasta way, they will make a side of broccoli with their brown butter and cheese if you ask. Make sure you mention that it needs to not be cooked in the same water as the pasta. They were able to make that for me as well as a chicken breast with marinara sauce.
  9. Hi there, I do eat at Mel's here in Southern California usually for breakfast but have been there for other meals as well. They do not have any separate information for food allergies but are very accomodating when it comes to make their food. I recommend trying to go at off times so its not too crowded. I would be careful with the shakes since they...
  10. It usually costs me and my fiance about $40 to eat there, i think its about $12 per entree. We usually get the spicy chicken, garlic snap peas, and some other dish depending on what we feel like. You can do takeout there but we usually eat in. The one by me has special parking and curbside service for picking up orders.
  11. My fiance and I are going to PF Changs. I dont know if they are in Texas but they have nice food and very nice looking restaurants. I definitely second the Ruth Chris idea also. The food is amazing.
  12. Hi All, I saw another post of this for PA and I was wondering if anyone had any information for Los Angeles about gluten free wedding cakes. I am getting married in November (I am a little early in asking, I know) and I am having about 125 people. Thanks, Denise
  13. I have also eaten there and had the hamburger with no bun. They are very nice about doing that and I have not gotten sick. I would stay away from the fries. i think they use separate fryers but I ended up with an onion ring in my fries. I actually accidentally ate one piece of the batter because i thought it was just an overly crispy fry. Big mistake...
  14. I do not know of a website but I bought the book Buff Brides (way before I was engaged, which I am now, yay!). Sorry for the tangent. Anyway, it has a good number of weight exercises as well as exercise ball stuff and it breaks it down per day and week what you should be doing. It starts with three days a week and works to four halfway through the 6 month...
  15. I also have not had a problem with them, and am addicted to the Salt & Pepper ones. My Trader Joe's always has them, as well as my Whole Foods (they even have the smaller and bigger bags).
  16. There is also the possibility that the brand of flu shot they are using contains MSG, if that causes a problem for you. I have had it before and got sick as well. I have decided not to take it this year because of that.
  17. I am a little late to this post but my pain is in the exact same spot where you are feeling it. My doc thought i was crazy because he didnt think anything was there that could cause anything. I also had a milk allergy as a child but can tolerate it now, as long as its not too much of it.
  18. The usual break fast with my family includes bagels, lox, cream cheese (typical, right?). Then there is usually deviled eggs, some sort of pasta salad and sometimes a cold meat tray. Then a huge tray of desserts. This is possibly the worst menu for us. I say bring a dessert that is gluten free. There are so many kosher desserts that are anyway, especially...
  19. They do affect people who are sensitive to eggs though, so watch out for that.
  20. Hope everyone is well this morning.. Has anyone gotten any information on what is gluten free at Sharkey's Woodfire Mexican Grill? I think its primarily a California place with some locations in Arizona and Nevada. I loved their food so much before diagnosed and would love to go back there. I sent an email but got no response in 2 weeks. Thanks...
  21. Keith Olbermann from MSNBC has celiac, right?? Someone should send this to him and see if he can put this on Countdown. Anyone watch that show? Maybe she could be todays worst person in the world.
  22. Before I was diagnosed with Celiac, I took a TB test at work in the hospital and it was read as positive. I had to have an X-ray and it came back negative so i was allowed to remain at work. My doctor did end up putting me on INH for TB because he wanted to be on the safe side. I was miserable on that medication. From now on, tell them that you are prone...
  23. Sorry I should have clarified. By off, I meant that my emotions seemed to be running haywire the entire first month. I was a lot more emotional and weepy that entire month and for no reason. And i think i still have some extra thirst but no other side effects.
  24. Side Effects I got from Yaz was definitely the thirst thing, and i was feeling off the first month until I changed from taking it in the morning to the evening. I did gain weight though. Good things were the reduced period to about 3 days, very light, and very few cramps. I used to have cramps in the middle of my cycle due to ovulation and those are now...
  25. I also take Yaz and have no problems with it. This is the pill that gives you a shorter period, about 3 days in total and very light. I did have some weight gain with it though but thats common with all the pills.
