  1. I am very nervous to try cheese. I've been thinking about maybe grating a little bit up and putting them over some corn chips and have a little mini nachos. Lol. I will savor the bites and just wait to see what my body does. I know everyone is different and there are some who can reintroduce and some who can't from what I've read and there are people like...
  2. Good morning! Thank you both for replying to my post. I am able to drink coffee-mate creamer (powder kind) and on the ingredients list it says "contains a milk derivative" and it says it contains sodium caseinate a milk derivative. But it does say non-dairy and lactose free on the side of the container. I am hopeful that I can reintroduce dairy. I have a...
  3. Hello, I am currently 20 months, 1 day gluten-free. I stopped consuming dairy a few weeks after going gluten-free when I realized I was having lingering symptoms. Since going gluten-free dairy-free each day has been a day closer to feeling like my old self. As a child never had any issues with gluten or dairy. It wasn't until a year before my blood...
  4. Thank you. I have not read deeply into any of the topics on why some people with Celiac end up having issues with dairy or what exactly in the dairy triggers people. I always thought it was lactose but I heard from someone recently it was the cassiene? (Not sure if that's spelled correctly) but iodine as well, huh? So, it could be any one of those ingredients...
  5. Thank you everyone for sharing! I am hopeful to try a few pieces of cheese here in the summer. Lol... I have a few days off so if my body decides to disagree I can suffer in the protection of my own home. fingers crossed and wish me luck. Thanks again.
  6. Thank you for sharing. It's always insightful to hear what other people go through. My own reaction is very fast. I feel is normally within 20 minutes to an hour and then after that first awful storm of affects I get tge lingering sickness for about two weeks. :/
  7. Hello everyone, I have been much better since my last post. I have been getting much more family support which makes me feel much less alone. I wont lie, I still have my days I feel like crying and asking myself "why me?!" Some days are still difficult to be around others eating foods I would love to eat. I do get jealous. :,( My question to others with...
  8. I'm sorry. I think we've all been there before and it sucks! I glutened myself 2 weeks ago at work with an ibuprofen. I normally carry tylenol in ny purse because I know they're safe, but I didn't have any and took some ibuprofens from the medicine cabinet at work. Within an hour I felt my stomach start to cramp in agonizing pain and also tried denying I...
  9. I also use Zofran. It doesn't eliminate the nausea but makes it tolerable for me. Good information in the posts above. Thanks everyone!
  10. I agree with the posters before me. I typically join my co-workers for lunch and they eat out several times a week. I also, normally order a Sprite and bring some gluten free snacks in my purse and just joyfully munch along when they eat their meal. I am beyond paranoid about eating out. It can be gluten free and sitting next to some croutons or something...
  11. Sorry to hear of your contipation. Before diagnosis I suffered from both D and C. Mine was very odd... I would go a few weeks severe D and then up to 10 days without having a bowel movement and I would cry because it was so painful. Like rocks, or something trying to come out. I have been gluten free nearly 8 months and with the exception of a few accidental...
  12. Thank you to ALL who replied. It means so much to hear from others who have been in the same boat as myself. It has been 10 days since being glutened and I am finally feeling somewhat "normal" after the long week of stomach pain and odd restroom issues. I felt bummed out last week going throw the motions as my body tried to rid itself of that icky ibuprofen...
  13. Hello, group.... My name is Nora. I'm looking for others to connect with that can just listen and understand what I'm going through. I'd like to just share my story and hope I can find some sort of a kind ear because I feel extremely alone. Last year about this time I began noticing I would become ill after eating lunch at work. It started off mild...
