ARCHIVED Questions About Breads And Different Symptoms
Sbwife14 replied to Sbwife14's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I didn't realize this topic has already been addressed. A food diary is a good idea. I will do that. For myself, I am suspecting a lactose intolerance as well. I have had gluten-free protein shakes and have sneezed as well as eating gluten-free cereal and sneezing. I haven't addressed that issue yet....but I am starting to take things out of my diet and see... -
ARCHIVED Questions About Breads And Different Symptoms
Sbwife14 replied to Sbwife14's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
To clarify..yes I am new. These are not gluten-free breads. I have suspected gluten intolerance, noticing different symptoms with different things. A GI doctor I have seen agrees I may be intolerant. I've tried 100% gluten-free and symptoms improved dramatically. So I am transitioning back to gluten-free. I was just curious why I don't have the sMe symptoms... -
ARCHIVED Questions About Breads And Different Symptoms
Sbwife14 posted a topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I am finding that I react differently to different breads. With pizza and noodles and white loaf bread I get horrible migraines. With things like cookies and biscuits, cinnamon rolls I sneeze my head off for about ten minutes then it's over. I can eat a hamburger with the bun and get by with mild constipation. Is there more gluten in some things than others... -

Thank you all so much! It helps to know I have a group of people that understands. I agree and I plan to be more strict with my diet. No lie...it's hard cause in the medical field I have to eat out a lot....and don't cook like I used to so I have a lot of changing to do to be successful! -
ARCHIVED I Am Completely Discouraged!
Sbwife14 replied to Sbwife14's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
To clarify, I had one full panel. The second GI doctor wouldn't run a second panel. Nonetheless, I was amazed as well and I wasn't expecting it! I ate pizza after 7 days and had the worst migraine ever!!! I plan on eating gluten free because doc or not, I know how I feel. It's just incredibly frustrating!!!! -

ARCHIVED I Am Completely Discouraged!
Sbwife14 replied to Sbwife14's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms

ARCHIVED I Am Completely Discouraged!
Sbwife14 replied to Sbwife14's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
One of the main reasons I went is intermittently I also have attacks where I have bloating, excess GERD, gas and waves of epigastric pain. This all lasts for several days at a time when it happens. And I have an area in the upper abdomen around the pancreas that does not look right. It "pooches out and just looks odd". She never addressed this. We have a... -
ARCHIVED I Am Completely Discouraged!
Sbwife14 replied to Sbwife14's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I guess what I was hoping from this visit to a second GI was more of a clinical confirmation that I do have a gluten intolerance and prove whether it is def not celiac or if it's NCGS. I don't need proof for work or school...just my own peace of mind. I went 100% gluten-free for 7 days when I connected my symptoms to possible Celiac and all of my symptoms... -
ARCHIVED I Am Completely Discouraged!

I've posted on other forums but I need to start here. I have all of the classics symptoms of gluten intolerance. I had celiac panel drawn and it was negative. My PCP is convinced I have a food intolerance. She referred me to a different GI doctor out of town wanting a colonoscopy and another EGD. My visit was today. She wouldn't run another celiac panel and... -

She's trying to get everything lined up to hopefully have an officialt diagnosis. Question......do I have to consume gluten again I. Order to get positive results?? I'm a little unclear about that.... -

So I have a question. I know everyone is different but how long does it potentially take to heal? Then.....can you eat gluten in very small portions or just keep it off the menu.....my guess is always gluten free? -
ARCHIVED Strange Question But I'm Curious...
Sbwife14 replied to Sbwife14's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thanks, GottaSki, for the welcome! I don't have a firm diagnosis yet. I finally found a doctor that is as convinced as I am that I have a gluten intolerance and is working on scheduling a biopsy for me. My labs were negative. Here is my story....I had my gallbladder removed 2 years ago. About 6 months later I began having attacks....bloating, gas, excruciating... -
ARCHIVED Strange Question But I'm Curious...

I'm having a lot of trouble losing weight. I'm assuming it's because I'm new to this and my body hasn't had time to adjust and heal. When I do lose a few pounds my belly still looks swollen...it's discouraging so I'm wondering if it will always be that way? -

Thanks guys. I did not have much medical support however today my PCP is ordering a gammit of tests and I am thankful. I don't think anyone else really notices but of course I think everybody notices. Finally I hope to get some definitive answers! When I have attacks my upper abdomen swells and sometimes gets hard....gassy...bad stomach pains....I will check... -
ARCHIVED Is Low Back Pain Normal When Having An Attack?
Sbwife14 replied to Sbwife14's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Thank y'all so much! I had a bad attack over the weekend and carried over to today. Saw my PCP this evening. She is scheduling CT abdomen with contrast, repeat EGD, colonoscopy with biopsy. The only thing I've ever had done was labs and EGD. Every time I have an attack bad low back pain accompanies. The seat Warner's in my car are awesome! Otherwise I just... -

ARCHIVED Strange Question But I'm Curious...

I'm new to gluten intolerance. Still adjusting. I've noticed my upper abdomen seems a bit misshapen... Kind of pokes out? I have no gallbladder. A patient who has celiac told me that because of the damage to her gut her stomach would never go back to the way it was.....seems odd but it bothers me. And times that I have an attack that area seems to be tender... -
I don't have a gallbladder and I have gluten intolerance but I also have severe GERD. You may want to try anti reflux precautions. No chocolate. Elevate headboard. Don't eat late at night. No sodas, spicy or acidic foods. Take reflux meds at night and not in the mornings since reflux tends to be worse at night. I didn't realize this until I started working...

I have experienced this too....mostly it's when I've consumed some form of gluten. WouLd feel like I've been lifting weights or muscle weakness...tired. For me it would go away after a few days.
