Eating Out Once A Day

Since I was out of town with family for two weeks, I ate out once a day, on average. I was kinda excited to visit Steak N Shake and Famous Dave's, Carnivale, and Lou Malnati's Pizza, none of which are available in California where I am.

Steak N Shake. Good bunless burger. Not allowed to eat the fries, fryers not designated. GREAT new Strawberry Banana Real Fruit Frozen Yogurt Shakes! MMMMmmmm We had a coupon and YUM-O.

I felt so NORMAL and back with the real people when I got to eat gluten-free pizza at Lou Malnati's. It was good. The cheese, toppings, and sauce were great. The sausage "crust" was ok. Too much sausage for me. I won't be ordering it shipped to CA. But, I will eat it again when I return to Chicago.

Famous Dave's was a NIGHTMARE. They didn't have the gluten free menu. The waitress freaked out when she heard the word allergy. It took 2 food attempts and 2 managers to get my food out correctly, and they didn't have the gluten-free sauce I saw online, either. It tasted yuk and the embarrassment and the fact that my family was finished eating by the time I got my food sucked. But they did comp my meal.

CARNIVALE was caliente! Yummy Brazilian food. The spices they used on the cheesy broccoli burned up my mouth-yeah! The ambiance and decor were Excellent. The service was IMPECCABLE. My bro and I split a meal and thank goodness we did- it was served on a platter- PLENTY! The plantains were delicioso! The only disappointment was that I thought I had read that the waiters were topless. darn.
