I have always read that all of that does matter--the shampoos, conditioners, cosmetics, lotions, etc. Even though you are not ingesting it directly, it is still on your hands, which then inadvertantly go into your mouth, touch your face, make your food...so there is still a good chance that you will accidentally ingest some. It may not be a huge amount...
