Thank you so much for the elementary re-education in civics, but you completely missed the point. A mother was helping another mother. -

ARCHIVED Pre-Occupation With Health
Marilyn R replied to cristiana's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Have you seen an endocrinologist and a rheumy? If you pass their work ups, you can rest easy. Here's a link you may find helpful, if you haven't hit it already. Open Original Shared Link. Good luck. -
Gotta ski, thought of you when I saw this recipe. Read 37 pages of members whose names begin with G and finally decided to just post it. Looks like good stuff. Open Original Shared Link

ARCHIVED Dog Treats?
Marilyn R replied to SMRI's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just check to see if they are made in China. Open Original Shared Link My girlfriend almost lost her beloved dig after she was feeding him dog food from China. She sent a list of all dog foods and treats that were mfg. in China. I believe pupperoni was on it, but Im not sure. She advised that if you had anything on that list, you throw it out. ... -

ARCHIVED Meal Planning For The Newly Diagnosed- Challenge
Marilyn R replied to user001's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
That menu plan comes from a very reputable source. Black beans and rice or red beans and rice has been a staple here since I went gluten-free and I never had a problem with it. I had allergy testing and scored a 3 on a scale of 5 for being allergic to egg yolks, but eaten in moderation they don't bother me. I bought a pressure cooker so I could make... -
ARCHIVED Meal Planning For The Newly Diagnosed- Challenge
Marilyn R replied to user001's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
This turned up when I googled Gluten Free Menu Plan. Open Original Shared Link You'll need to make substitutions based on your food preferences. You also might like to try a paleo cookbook. -
I would try to avoid the steroid cream. It causes thinning of the skin. Try the diet again and see what happens. Or get him to a good derm. or ped if you want a diagnosis before putting him on a gluten-free diet and be insistent that he be tested. I feel for both of you! .l

ARCHIVED Eating Gluten Free With Friends Visiting
Marilyn R replied to user001's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Just distract them with conversation on the way into the restaurant. They won't even notice, unless they want a burger on a big wheat bun. If they get in a hissy about that, they can stop my Mc D's or BK on the way back to your placel -

ARCHIVED Reaction To Bragg's Products
Marilyn R replied to michellec26's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi Michelle, When you develop an insensitivity to a food, whack the food and go with an alternative. A good substitution for salad dressing could be lemon juice and olive oil, or vinegar and olive oil. If you want to make it tastier, add herbs or mustard. In a few months, if you're feeling brave and adventurous, try the Bragg.s again. Good luck... -
ARCHIVED What To Expect With Endoscopy
Marilyn R replied to Kelsie's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had a reaction to the anesthesia, which was soy based. I probably could have worked from home, but I didn't feel safe driving. -
I ended up signing up with a representative. I just couldn't handle all of the paperwork. They completed all of the paperwork and submitted it for me. I've been denied twice, even with Lupus with liver involvement and Celiac. I've waited a year for the trial now. They're going to do a video conference trial. The most the rep or attorney can charge...

ARCHIVED Does This Mean I'm Going To Be Super Sensitive To Gluten?
Marilyn R replied to Kirakisses's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
In my opinion, it doesn't necessarily mean that what you described means you are super sensitive. You probably ingested more than 20 parts per million by making the toast, feeding it to your daughter, sharing the veggies and eating with your hands without washing them. You could get glutened from kissing your daughter, unless you brush her teeth, wipe... -
Sorry it took me so long to get back to the forum. I'm actually not taking any meds for Lupus, haven't for 2 years. I sleep a lot and read books. My rheumy explained that if I couldn't tolerate the Plaqinall,, the other 2 drugs were even stronger and he thought I'd have a tough time with them. He said the University of Miami is testing a new drug for...

ARCHIVED Chobani Flips
Marilyn R replied to Adalaide's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
:lol:Hi Adalaide, I tried Mueller's gluten-free pasta. Cooked it exactly per the package instructions. It stunk, was harder than a rock. Even my dog and part time dog wouldn't eat it. Sorry you got sick. -
I have Lupus too. I personally have not been able to tolerate the Plaqunil, but I have a long history of not being able to tolerate meds. If you have a difficult time tolerating it, I read on the Lupus Foundation of America's forum that some people cut the dose in half at first, always take it with meals, then graduate up to the 200 mg. per day. Wish...

ARCHIVED Stuck Without Diagnosis
Marilyn R replied to Reena's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Hi Reena, and welcome to the forum. IMO, it would not be worth it for you to do a gluten challenge. Why go through that when you have already had success with going gluten-free? Fertility problems and migraines are linked with celiac disease or intolerance, and so are a number of other things you mention. I can't address the blood tests because I'm... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Or Just Gluten Intolerance?
Marilyn R replied to Chelsea-Lynne's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Test results can be "iffy" when it comes to celiac disease or gluten intolerance. If you feel better on a gluten-free diet, it kinda makes sense to stick with it. -
