mouse replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Welcome to the forum Judy. I have met your son on many occasions and you should be proud of him. His knowledge on Celiac is wonderful. I was hoping to get up to Vegas to meet you, but did not make it. Hopefully I will be able to, when you visit Chris again. -
ARCHIVED Response I Got My From Alexis Stewart
mouse replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Publications & Publicity
Broncobux, your letters are as awesome as you are. Since I have had dinner with you many times, I know you are not an angry young man. Just a very knowledgle one. I am getting dagger looks from my hubby as he wants me on the couch with my leg elevated. They could not do the stents. My left leg is too far damaged. There is a possibilty that a stent... -
ARCHIVED Response I Got My From Alexis Stewart
mouse replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Publications & Publicity
This will be short as I am on my way to the hospital to get the first of two stents put in my legs. I find that this disease is more then a simple diet change. Especially if you go undiagnosed until late in life. I have scoliois because of the lengthy time I had malaabsorption. I have two pain killers available to me at all times. One is addictive... -
Susie, I am so sorry.

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
mouse replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I am so sorry Susan that you are going through so much. Pain is not fun in any form. I am also claustraphobic (sp) and one MRI tec recommended a wash cloth over my eyes. She said no matter how much I said I would keep my eyes closed, I would open them. It worked. And I also concentrated on the drum beats in the tunnel and that helped a lot. May God... -
ARCHIVED Meeting With Doctors On Monday
mouse replied to Eriella's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Ursinus is a small campus and I am sure they will accomadate you. I would ask the doctors' for a letter saying gluten intolerant. You have shown improvement on the diet and they should not balk at giving you the letter. My brother graduated from that college in the early 60's. Have not heard that name for so long. It has such a lovely campus. -
ARCHIVED Refractory Celiac Disease
mouse replied to Bri's mom's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
You could PM Canadian Karen as she also has refractory celiac sprue. She might have some suggestions. Hugs to both of you and your children. -
I got a new computer a couple of months ago and since then I have not been able to print in the size I used to. THIS ONLY HAPPENS on the forum. When I print from other websites, the size is normal. But, on here, my printing of recipes come out so small that I would need a magnifying glass to read them. I have searched on this site and cannot find where...

ARCHIVED My Dog Is Lost - I Feel So Awful!
mouse replied to jmd3's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I have been following this thread since you lost your dog. I am so happy she is now home where she belongs. Our pets are part of our family and to lose one would be so heartbreaking. We only have one pet, a small toy poodle, but she is loved so much. I don't worry about her getting lose as we have a small gated back yard. But, I do worry about an owl... -
ARCHIVED The Funny Pages - Tickle Me Elbow - The Original
mouse replied to TriticusToxicum's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
When I lost that 53 pounds before the celiac disease diagnosis, my boobs went south and the top of them looked like a flat road. So, of course I went and got new bras and padded ones for the first time in my life. Then my hubby is up late and switching channels and comes across the Oprah show on bras. He found it fasinating (probably all of that boob... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Dinner In Las Vegas
mouse replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Just thought I would bump this again for those that have not seen this thread. I have to tell everyone that broncobux knows what he is doing in restaurants and is on a personal name basis with many Las Vegas chefs. I have seen him in action at a restaurant and the chef comes out and can't do enough. So this meal would be more then safe. It would... -
ARCHIVED Can An Endoscopy / Biopsy And Blood Test Not Show Celiac When You Do Have It?
mouse replied to kak113's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I hope you know that to do the gluten challange that you have to be comsuming gluten, equivilent to 3 to 4 slices of bread every day for a total of 3 to 6 months. Several on here have tried it and quit as they got so sick that they could not handle it. I was like Kak113's Mom. I suffered for about 30 years until I lost 53 pounds and got far below what... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Dinner In Las Vegas
mouse replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Oh, my mouth is watering. I have not had calamari since I went gluten free. Can I get that when I have dinner with you in August? I wish I lived closer, but hubby won't drive 5 1/2 hours for a dinner. Only you do that, but we are old LOL. -
ARCHIVED Family Doctor Not Acting On Results
mouse replied to Josina's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Welcome to the forum and here is to your future good health. I was only diagnosed with a blood test as I was literally almost dead by the time I was diagnosed. I was to sick for the endoscopy and my GP wanted me to go gluten free right then. He said another two weeks and I would have had no recovery. So, if I had been told to keep eating gluten and... -
ARCHIVED I Got "fired" By My Doctor!
mouse replied to tiredofdoctors's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I don't think I ever told anyone what a firebrand Lynne could be. I was having a problem with my local pharmacy over a RX that they kept wanting to give me gereric for. I was so frustrated. Lynne called them and told them she was my neice and it they did not give me the name brand, she was going to call corporate in Oakbrook, Il and lodge a complaint.... -
PM broncobux as he is the eating safely expert in Las Vegas. He is more then happy to help Celiacs out. He will want to know where you are staying, if using a car, walking or whatever. Then he will give you many options.

ARCHIVED How Many Of You Have Already Had Bone Fractures?
mouse replied to mamabear's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Many years ago I had fractures in both big toes. I knew what caused one, but not the other. They did Dupont plastic implants in them both. One broke down a couple of years ago and the other is still going strong. They expected them to last about 3 years. One lasted me 22 years and the other must be about 24 years old. I do not have Osteoporosis as... -
ARCHIVED Modified Food Starch - Correction Of Misconception
mouse replied to RKB-MD's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
It has been awhile since we had a "knock em down" thread. Didn't someone mention we are going to have a full moon? The things I take exception to is the knocking of the members who have been SO HELPFUL AND INFORMATIVE. I do know that Chris has always qualified his info about MFS and gives sources when they need to be done. Lisa has ALWAYS been helpful...
