Buttered, Toasted Breadcrumbs

Recommended Posts

I found a variation of this on foodnetwork.com.

Grind up the bread in a food processor until you've got breadcrumbs. Melt some butter in a pan on the stovetop over medium heat. Add any seasonings you'd like. I just added garlic oil, salt and pepper. Put the breadcrumbs in and stir until toasted. If you also toast the bread beforehand, it takes less time on the stovetop, but it works either way.

I use this for breading chicken tenders.

I haven't found any bread so far that can't be saved by doing this.

Edited to add: I think the original recipe used olive oil and not butter, so if you're have other intolerances, it should work with any type of oil.

The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.
