tarnalberry 314 Posted December 17, 2004 Report This Post (To report rule violations to admin) Share Posted December 17, 2004 The tamari could be a problem, or it could be fine. You'll need to check on it. Tiffany aka "Have I Mentioned Chocolate Lately?" bklyn 0 Posted December 21, 2004 Author Report This Post (To report rule violations to admin) Share Posted December 21, 2004 This is the answer to my question about Indonesian Chicken Wings from Whole Foods - I e-mailed them and they answered "the tamari used in this recipe is not wheat free". When I googled "tamari" I came up with "a wheat free soy sauce". Well, now I know never to buy those again. I attriubuted the burning in my stomach to "spicy wings" but maybe not. Kathy C. lovegrov 151 Posted December 21, 2004 Report This Post (To report rule violations to admin) Share Posted December 21, 2004 No matter what you googled, there are definitely gluten-free and non-gluten-free tamaris. From what I've seen, most are NOT. You have to check. richard
tarnalberry 314 Posted December 21, 2004 Report This Post (To report rule violations to admin) Share Posted December 21, 2004 absolutely - google will bring up the most frequented sites as a response, but that doesn't mean they cover the gamut. there are plenty of tamari's made with wheat - you've got to investigate them unless they list their ingredients.
