Thanks!

I'm really not trying to piss anyone off! I am just sick of being stuck here on the couch and am wanting a good meal. At this point there is no end in sight.
-
I just re-read my post to see if it was in some way unclear. In no way did I ask for help. And I ended it by saying that I guess this is mainly a rant. I also didn't know that other posters had the right to determine which posts should be closed! I guess it is also okay for people here to insult my family. My husband is disabled and works 12 hour shifts...

Did I ask for help? No. I was just venting.

ARCHIVED Could You Just Try It? Grrr...
Juliebove replied to Juliebove's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Yep! My saving grace now is that we're not out in public. Normally I take her out. She behaves badly in public and that's embarrassing. -
ARCHIVED Could You Just Try It? Grrr...
Juliebove replied to Juliebove's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Indeed! I am not taking the chance of big D now. Can't get to the bathroom very fast! -
There are a whole lot of other issues that I won't get into here. just because someone is grown, does not necessarily make them capable. And that's all I will say on that.
-
Actually no. I have a chicken intolerance. Also can't have eggs, dairy, most meat, garlic, lots of herbs... So no jarred sauce here. Daughter can't have basil either. I thought I posted this in a thread for multiple food intolerances?
-
Put my foot on *what* table? And this is a thread for food intolerances. No eggs here. Can't digest steak. And the let them go hungry just won't work. They will just eat my food. The problem here is that *i* miss *my* cooking!

Thanks! My extended family mostly dines out. Friends eat cereal, salad, yogurt and prepared food. Just wanted to throttle husband who had the nerve to complain of the quality of the food I am buying. I am paying a fortune for delivery. Have to rely on places like Walmart, Safeway and the Fresh dept. of that place whose name is a big river. As such,...

ARCHIVED Could You Just Try It? Grrr...
Juliebove replied to Juliebove's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Agree. I really think she is not right in the head, perhaps due to senility. She'll be 80 soon. And because I am stuck here on the couch, I can not go see her like I usually do. I did contact the relative who will see her today and alerted her of what she did. For a time, I was getting frantic late night phone calls from her. She would say that something... -
ARCHIVED Could You Just Try It? Grrr...
Juliebove replied to Juliebove's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Thanks! I don't live with them. However my fear was that they would bring me a case of this stuff from Costco because they know that I can't get out. Worse still they might come over and not leave until they saw me try it. I do think the one person is senile. She called me throughout the night to scream at me and tell me that I was being abusive and... -
I am recovering from a foot wound and was told by a Dr. And nurse to eat more protein to help it heal faster. DR. Was displeased with my eating beef and bacon because of the fat. Urged me to eat beans. I love beans and normally eat them daily but the strong antibiotics I am in are caused big D so... Trying not to eat so many seeds, nuts and beans. ...

ARCHIVED Weird Allergic Reactions
Juliebove replied to EarFull's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I know of allergy forums. Just not good ones. Which is why I stay here. Came here as gluten was a problem for daughter. There is a section here for other intolorance sand allergies. The people there are nice and helpful, unlike the allergy forums I have found. Some of you symptoms sound like allergies. But bottom line, if it makes you sick, don't eat... -
ARCHIVED Acid Reflux And Ppi's
Juliebove replied to flowerqueen's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
PPIs made my GERD worse and caused bad side effects. Now I take Carafate. Does not stop the GERD but form a coating to protect from damage. Also take the supplement D Limonene. I buy online. I used to have bad Barrett's Esophagus. I still have it but it's almost totally cleared up. -
I'm glad the Crockpot worked for you. I used mine for a few years until daughter pointed out that the food cooked in it tasted wrong. And she was right. I have not used them since except for baked potatoes or baked beans. Would be nice if she could make one meal for us all, but there's not much that we can all eat. We're all eating. That's not the...

Yes, they would do that. I grew up pretty much doing that. My parents loved to dine out. We only ate at home if we couldn't afford to go out. Daughter does eat plenty of stuff that doesn't require cooking. Dairy products, raw fruit and veg. I just miss my own cooking! I have spoiled myself. As I said in another reply, the people I know do not cook...

I can't sit in a chair. Must stay on couch. Nurse comes daily to change dressing. None of us like the Crockpot much. We think it gives a funny flavor to the food. And there are few meals we will/can all eat. We all have to follow special diets. Just different ones.
-
Ha! No. Don't know anyone who cooks. They go out to eat, get takeout, etc. Plus none of my friends live around here. To complicate things, I wouldn't trust anyone but daughter to make food for me (exception being restaurants where I know the cook) . Just too many food intolerances and people don' t understand. As for sandwiches, I truly dislike them...

Don't know what I did. Tried to edit. Stupid IPad!

Long story short... Nail went through bottom of my boot and into my foot. Did not notice the damage till 12 hours later. Felt pain but put hand in boot and could not find the source of the pain so assumed it was diabetic neuropathy pain. Oops! So... Infection set in. Hospital stay, operation and now home where I must keep the foot elevated above my...

ARCHIVED Gluten In All Grains!? Corn, Rice, Etc...?
Juliebove replied to MegRie's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
There is gluten in all grains. But it is not the same type of gluten that is in wheat. Would be far less confusing had they named it something else. -
ARCHIVED Need Some Dairy Free Pasta Or Rice Sauce Ideas Please
Juliebove replied to HavaneseMom's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Can you have leeks? Chives? If so, I would add one of those. Get some dried mushrooms and powder them in a Magic Bullet. Failing that, chop as finely as possible. Add to you broth to thicken and add flavor. -
ARCHIVED Problems Feeling Full After Going gluten-free?
Juliebove replied to tonalynn's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Potatoes are high on the satiety scale. Dried beans are too. But to keep feeling full, you need fat. And you likely won't do well with fat because of gallbladder issues. -
ARCHIVED Type 1 Vs Type 2 Diabetes Differences Needed In Simple Terms
Juliebove replied to powerofpositivethinking's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Type 2 is the most common, even in children. It is not reversible in my opinion. Some say that type 2 is also auto immune. The Dr. can do tests to see how much insulin is being produced. Type 1 people produce no insulin. Type 2 people often produce tons of insulin but are highly insulin resistant. But there is so much we just don't know. There are...
