  1. Daughter and I both have some popping joints. For me it's mostly the knees and the neck. I did have whiplash many years ago and have had trouble with my neck ever since. Have had knee trouble from age 12. Knees will subloxate or pop in and out. Very painful when that happens. Have had far less trouble since I began wearing compression hose. Daughter...
  2. It's possible to have a rice intolerance. Daughter has intolerances to quinoa and flax. Those aren't her symptoms though. Just tummy troubles.
  3. Oh yeah. Can't tell you how many times that has happened! Even had trouble at Olive Garden. Order gluten-free, remind them not to put croutons on the salad and they'll do it anyway. Then offer to pick them off for you! Mm hm. I can't have dairy. So I will order a plain baked potato. Once, the waitress brought it out with little containers of butter...
  4. I can't speak for the hard shells at Taco Bell or for the chicken which only some items have. I can speak for the beef and it contains oats. Gluten isn't even an issue for me (was for daughter) but oats are bad for me. I do believe that the beans are safe. Not even sure about the rice. There are just so many other options here that we try not to do Taco...
  5. You are coming across as being rude to me. And since you are new... There is no one pat answer that will work for all things. Sometimes an item can be gluten-free but then they change the formulation and it no longer is. Not all things can be answered with "yes" or "no". But in this case they can.
  6. Easter dinner will be: Baked beans and tossed salad. Daughter will also have a sweet potato and some chicken
  7. I had bean with bacon soup. Made a big pot of it on Monday but starting to get a tad sick of it by now. Still have another serving. Too bad daughter doesn't like it.
  8. AFAIK I have no salt issues but I have been eating Real Salt for years. I do keep some cheap salt for use in cleaning or if I need to gargle with hot salt water. My friend is very salt/sodium sensetive and her feet and ankles will swell if she eats bacon.
  9. I am intolerant to any and all fish. Not sure what my symptoms are though since I only know this by testing. I just gave up all fish then.
  10. I know this is an old post but I too get this sometimes. At one point I thought it was a new shower wash that I had tried. Twice I itched all over from using it. But I had used it one time prior and it was fine. I have since used it and had no problems. So... Maybe it was something my daughter used in the shower prior? I did this to her once. Used...
  11. What kind of meat is it? Gluten is not an issue for me but oats are and there are oats in their ground beef. We hadn't eaten there for years but during the dress rehearsal for my daughter's dance studio we did try it only because we were starved and it was about the only place open near there. I had the beans and they were oh so yummy! I had forgotten...
  12. Someone I used to know online but it no longer with us surmised that I might have a problem with sorbitol since the fruits that give me trouble are high in it. I know I can not consume the sweetener called sorbitol because it causes stomach trouble. I can eat raw apples and pears although I very rarely do. They don't seem to cause trouble. I can eat canned...
  13. I do use a spoon to scoop out the seeds. My family won't eat it with the rind on and that is no longer recommended. They now say to wash the outside well, cut it up and discard the rind.
  14. As a child I was given watermelon quite frequently because my mom loves it. I can't stand the stuff. Then at a Boeing campout I tried some honeydew and cantaloupe. Loved the stuff. But we never had it at home because my mom couldn't stand the smell. As an adult, I had it once in a while but I was never a big fruit eater. Then my now husband and...
  15. We gave up on cake. Nobody else would eat it and daughter didn't really like it. One year we did Enjoy Life cookies arranged in a tower. Several years we did gluten-free brownies. People usually seem to like those. This year she is on a diet so it will be an Edible Arrangement with no dipped fruit.
  16. Hey! I think it reached 72 here in Bothell! And we saw the sun.
  17. Spanish rice made with brown rice. It smells good! I just hope that my daughter will eat it. She doesn't really like brown rice. But she is on the South Beach diet so white rice is out. Also a side of zesty salsa refried beans.
  18. A few questions for you. How did you learn of the parasites? How did you know what they were? Did you take the herbs on your own? Or were they prescribed? I began to worry about my daughter and I recently after my little cat was found to have roundworms. I wouldn't have thought about us having them but some people online elsewhere were telling me...
  19. I went to the Dr. for a chronic ear infection that had come and gone for over a year. The Dr. wasn't my regular Dr. She was out sick. He tested my blood sugar, told me I had diabetes and sent me on my unmerry way. I was like... Wha? Didn't prescribe anything for me to take. Didn't tell me to test my blood sugar. Come back for a followup visit. Nothing...
  20. I had that a lot as a child and young adult. Not recently that I know of. Gluten is not an issue for me.
  21. My daughter is in her second year of pre-pointe. This year she got the pre-pointe shoes. Her teacher is out of the country. The teacher that was filling in said that the pre-pointe shoes are simply pointe shoes that didn't pass inspection and that they then remove the shank from them. I don't know if this is true or not. She also went on to say that...
