  1. Can we get him one of those little buggies like the Shriners drive around on? He has a bad back.....
  2. No, that's not you, that's the beer. I'd say an informal poll of the posts I've read here would get you a 95% rating of 'yuck' on Redbridge, hahahaha..... I was a Newcastle/Killian's/sometimes Heineken girl myself before gluten-free, definitely try Green's. My favorite is the dubbel dark.
  3. Aaaaaand this is why there's aluminum foil covering the bottom rack in my oven
  4. And your area would be?.....
  5. I have been in the unfortunate position of being out of food due to my house burning down. It will most certainly freak you the **** out to be suddenly without access to food, however, the situation described by the OP sounds chronic rather than acute in nature. Considering that the OP might have mental health issues due to gluten consumption is most...
  6. Loey- Charcoal! Worked like magic for me last time I got glutened. And I used digestive enzymes for the next week to help with getting my other foods absorbed. And Yogi Peach Detox tea, which happens to be quite tasty as well. Watch out with the charcoal- it should be taken away from any other supplement or food.
  7. Without other symptoms, I wouldn't consider canker sores to be a sign of a glutening, although it is possible. I found that any commercial toothpaste gives me canker sores, I now have to use liquid soap to brush my teeth (you get used to it....). All it is is a localized bacterial infection. I find that zinc lozenges kick the crap out of them. I hold the...
  8. Not knowing what a grunion is until I read further along in your post, I had at first assumed it to be something local to you like Bigfoot or the chupa cabra, and was very interested to see what photos you came up with!
  9. I had grass fed cheeseburgers with provolone and homefries. Yeahhhhh......
  10. So last night I was so tired and distracted that, while making scrambled eggs for the boyfriend, I cracked the first egg into the pan and threw the shell into the garbage, and the second egg got cracked into the garbage and the shell thrown into the pan. Yeah, he looked at me funny for that one......
  11. I've been ignoring the crackers/cookie section as I've been eating entirely grain and refined-sugar free. I went by this box, it's a white box with brick red writing on it, the brand is 'absolutely gluten free'. They're made from potato starch, tapioca starch, palm oil, eggs, honey, salt, vinegar. THEY'RE SO TASTY!!!!!
  12. Geez, so many topics to cover.... My favorite color is red, although it irks me to no end that the color I look best in is pink. I love yellow and green but can't wear them as my skin is remarkably yellow and it makes me look like I'm dying a slow death. My birthstone is diamonds, so that's nice. My favorite frozen pizza crust is most definitely...
  13. When I first went gluten free, I gained 15 pounds in the first month-I have stretch marks from it. But it was ALL in the hips, my butt like, exploded. So for almost a year after that I kept ramming into things with my hips because they were bigger than I was used to! I mean, the first 15 came quickly, but I continued to gain weight that year, and it...
  14. I recently attended a wedding as someone's +1, not knowing anyone there. Instead of trying to fuss with the caterers or anything, I just made turkey burger patties (because they're delicious cold) and a salad in a bag, snuck out to my car at the right time, and asked for a clean plate. Only the woman sitting next to me even noticed, noone else at the...
  15. As with anything, following the directions on the package is most certainly advised!
  16. The last time I got glutened, I found that charcoal capsules helped a GREAT deal. I guess it makes sense, they give you charcoal for an overdose, so it oughta help with the gluten poison I figure! Might also try licorice tea and anything minty for the stomach upset. Most find these to be soothing to an upset stomach.
  17. Actually, I got bit by that dish soap, not because of dishes (I find it less than effective for doing dishes) but because I regularly use the other scent of Ecover dish soap as shampoo. Hey, it's cheap.... Made my head hive up, as I have a topical allergy to wheat as well, and I realized what had happened and washed my hair again with something before...
  18. I forgot to mention, the zinc drop thing (I use the Zand brand) also totally numbs the canker sore. It doesn't hurt to have the lozenge on it, it makes it feel better almost right away and leaves it numb for a good half hour. Zand makes an elderberry zinc lozenge, they're like little hard candies, only good stuff in them, gluten free, and they're mighty...
  19. Addy, for temporary relief of the canker sores you're dealing with right now, you might try some zinc lozenges. On the rare occasion I get one I hold the zinc lozenge in my mouth right over the canker sore, two-three times a day. Usually clears up in less than 48 hours. I've also found that 'normal people' toothpaste sets off canker sores for me, so now...
  20. If I want 'chopped' nuts I just stick them in a heavy duty baggie and bang the crap out of them with my fists on the countertop. Great for getting rid of unexpressed frustration! Also works on cookies for pie crusts.
  21. THIS is why I don't eat produce I can't wash. I worked in a grocery store for four years, and they are like a gluten den of iniquity. Those conveyor belts get cleaned MAYBE once a month. I spent four years watching filthy-handed small children putting their hands all over everything as they walk through the store. Pick up an apple, put it back down. Drop...
  22. Tumbleweeds 'round here. And I'm pretty sure I got hit with the excess phluids from the phlipover.....
