  1. Um, that's a whole lotta gas money! There are SO many websites that sell these products, maybe go mail order before you make a 4 hour trip?
  2. I know someone who used to work for Tate's, and once I explained to her what cross-contamination means, she told me not to eat them. That was a few years ago, but that sort of thing sticks in my head and I have not ever bought anything from them because of that.
  3. You might want to mention UK in the title of your post to get more attention from your compatriots.
  4. Um, I used to do it with a bit of olive oil and diced garlic. My tummy decided it doesn't like spinach anymore . No reason not to do it in butter! Or creamed or however you and yours enjoy it. If you wanted to do a beef dish, perhaps lasagna or spaghetti squash?
  5. I get this once in a while. It has, apparently, nothing whatsoever to do with what I've eaten. It will do it sometimes if I've gone too long without food and then eaten a lot. Sometimes it does it for no apparent reason. One day a friend of mine thought it was funny and teased me about something bursting out of my chest a la Aliens.... I think tummies...
  6. Wilted spinach with garlic and onions?
  7. Well THAT'S dedication! I've never gone and thrown up on purpose!
  8. I'm addicted to olive oil potato chips from Trader Joe's. They're the tastiest thing I've ever.... it's just bad, I just can't buy them.
  9. Charcoal worked good on me last time! Good luck buds!
  10. Oh no Addy! What happened?
  11. OH MY GOD POP TARTS.
  12. An apple with cheddar and a package of bacon.
  13. At this point, I'm the one who rarely catches anything, and when I do, it's much less severe than everyone else. I got hit by the flu in January, which is just wrecking New England still. But I had about three days of honestly sick, but not bedridden at all. I sure didn't feel GOOD, but I was functional. Whereas the friend I caught it off of wound up...
  14. I feel your stress on this, darlin! I am newly single after a six-year relationship ( ) and find myself worrying about things like this, although I do not have the first-time jitters adding to it. It's totally understandable that you would be nervous over the whole thing. First- deep breath. So far, I have been able to work the 'Can't even share a...
  15. Actually, that's entirely true. The study that I've done over the years has only confirmed to me that any nutrient in any grain is found in higher abundance and easier digestibility in vegetable, fruit, or animal foods. Basically, noone needs any grains. They're just tasty. And cheap! I've been eating entirely grain free for months. NOT CHEAP. Sigh......
  16. So a while ago Addy posted about making cheese bread without buying a mix, using the recipe from the following link http://www.ourbestbites.com/2011/02/quick-brazilian-cheese-rolls-pao-de-queijo-2/ Well, it's awesome. Piece of advice? Don't accidentally double the amount of oil called for in the recipe......
  17. Dutchgirl, you might want to look into some recipes made with almond butter and peanut butter, like on Elana's pantry website. There's other places where you can find recipes using nut butters as well. They freeze well, they're tasty, and high protein, with no icky ingredients found in a lot of package stuff.
  18. Patteee, I believe the proper expression is 'That'll learn ya!'
  19. I been out and about. Not much psilly going on here. Bout to have some cheeseburger soup!
  20. I'm just trying to figure out how they found his ID in that charred rubble. I've dug through a burned-down house.....
  21. I worked as a dispatcher at a car auction, so I was in charge of the truck drivers who went out and picked up the vehicles. Some days, things went great. Some days, it rained or snowed or hailed or tornadoed or rained frogs or every SINGLE truck broke down or eight people called out sick or...... So before I went gluten free, it was all those days. Now...
  22. Those prices are pretty much what I see at stores in my area, like Ocean State Job Lot or eXpect discounts. If there's a cut-rate store near you like that, you might be surprised to find they carry Bob's.
  23. I totally understand the frustration that comes from dealing with the 'fad diet' attitude, both from those who are participating in it as a fad diet, and the effect it has on those who serve in restaurants and the like. I have lost count of the people who've said something along the lines of 'Well, so-and-so doesn't have to be that careful.' I have...
  24. That may be it- it was about 42-43 degrees, in the sun shoveling I got so warm I had to strip a few of those layers of wrapping! Clearly, shoveling is not one of the 'recommended exercises'. I'm pretty sure it's stress that's made the past few months worse. Which is frustrating because I've kept my diet super-clean, 90% organic, grain-free...
