  2. Heyy! It's been awhile since I've been on here but I knew this would be the place to go to find a great recipe. I'm looking for a great, easy green bean casserole recipe for Thanksgiving.   4. My health class is having a snack food day on Tuesday and every student is supposed to bring in a food. I want to show the class how gluten-free eating doesn't have to be a huge loss. I'm looking for a gluten-free recipe for a snack food or a dessert that is low fat because that's the unit we're in right now. And possibly a fairly easy recipe that's difficult to mess up. Any suggestions?
  5. Gluten-free Sugar Cookies Even though I advocate finding joy in foods that are naturally gluten-free, it is the holidays. And I still like some traditions. No matter what, I still like roll-out sugar cookies, thick and threaded through with vanilla, cut into Christmas-tree shapes and frosted with buttercream frosting. This is a recipe I adapted from Sonya Joseph's gluten-free cooking class I took at the beginning of the month. They work. They'll fill that need. 2 1/2 cups of your favorite gluten-free flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 1/2 teaspoons of xanthan gum (omit if your gluten-free flour mix already contains this) 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup margarine 1/2 cup butter 1 egg 2 teaspoons vanilla (make sure it's gluten-free. Use only pure vanilla, please.) 1/2 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg After you have preheated the oven to 350
  6. I tried the fudge recipe yesterday. Turned out delicious!!! Very rich and decadent. Perfect recipe, easy and extremely yummy!!!
  7. I did add the xanthan gum. I used the measuring cup to scoop the flour. I've never heard of that being a problem but I can definitely see how that would change the measurements! Thanks for the tip!!! The taste was great with the cookies. =)
  8. I tried these the other day and they came out very, VERY crumbly. I'm not sure why but most of them fell apart when I tried to take them off the cookie sheet. The ones that did survive fell apart as soon as I took a bite. Does anyone have an idea as to why this happens?

  11. I've had Chili's many times in the past couple weeks and I didn't have a single problem. I've felt perfectly normal each time. I get the Southwestern Cobb Salad with no chicken and no bacon (veg). They charge less because of the lack of meat. It's a delicious salad and I haven't had a problem with it yet! Fingers crossed!!!
  12. I'm in French this year and every year the class orders a Buche de Noel and eats it in class on the last day before Winter Break. Does anyone know of a gluten-free buche de noel recipe that is successful, easy, and delicious? Is it possible?

  14. I MADE IT THROUGH MY FIRST GLUTEN-FREE THANKSGIVING AND DIDN'T GET GLUTENED AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ate everything I normally do and was just as stuffed when it was over. I'm ecstatic right now. =)
